Here's last year's sell out times.
Already got my preview night + all days but like to keep track of sellout times. Preview night is "running low" but still available at 9:32am.
EDIT: Preview night sold out at 9:34 (slightly slower than last year)
Saturday badges sold out at 10:02 (slightly faster than last year)
Friday "running low" at 10:04am, sold out at 10:08am (slightly faster than last year)
Thursday "running low" at 10:13am, sold out at 10:21am
Sunday sold out 10:29am

19 minutes here now. Was initially 27 so it's moving faster than estimated.
Edit: ended up getting in at 9:15 and got all 4 days plus preview night.

I suspect partly the numbers in line are inflated by people being on with multiple devices/browsers.

Time to wake up early, set your computers on to *never sleep*, watch the damned toucan stand still in the queue line while having the most unnerving feeling. Yup, it's another year and I'm ready!

For those with "more than an hour", just remember: people tend to use multiple browsers/devices, and when they get in and get tickets with one, they'll log out with the others, causing a shift in times

I have had terrible luck with returning reg the last handful of years. At most, got 1 day. Then for regular reg I have been lucky enough to get less than 30 minute wait time and get all the days. Wild how luck swings.

I feel like they shifted more badges to Open Reg. Last year, people were shut out in Return Reg, but everyone in the waiting room got through in time for (at least) Sunday in Open Reg.

Yeah you might be onto something. Feels harder and harder in returning each year. been going since like 2013 and it feels way different each year.

Yeah, one of ours got moved to 55 minutes, then to 45 minutes. We are now looking at a 9:57 entry. My guess is that as the "lucky" members of groups get the tickets, the others bail and the queue starts moving faster. Best of luck to you (and us)!

Done. 4-day badges for the whole family (this was easier when it was just my brother and I). Got through at 9:21 and 9:52. Out of a couple of dozen browser windows between all of us, only 4 ever got below 1 hour.
The catcha failure I got induced some panic and frustration but I was happily surprises to see it retained the last few minutes of my 15 min session and then allowed me to log in.
I'll see you all in November when I try to help some friends get their badges.

Today was the first time I got tickets during Returning Registration. I got ghosted on Returning Registration three years in a row, but today I got four days for me and my son. I'll have to buy my wife's ticket on Open Registration. 2027 will be her first year at Comic-con.

My wait time was 44 minutes… then jumped to “more than an hour”, then 59 minutes. How the heck does that happen? Surely people who come late to the queue go to the back of the line?

It’s not that anyone moved ahead of you, it’s that they may have slowed the entry for everyone to manage server load in the purchase system.

A reminder folks to not panic if the time remaining fluctuates.
When they sorted the queue, you were given a place in line. The time is irrelevant to your place in line.

We had a couple people in the buying group get unrecoverably locked out from buying badges a few years ago when it decided they’d already bought them in a cart that locked up. Luckily we covered them in open reg but that was not great.

I missed Returning Registration last year cuz I was lazy and slept through it, but still managed to get a badge when Open Registration came around (barely, but still)
I also plan on volunteering again anyway, so I'm not too worried about it
And if on the freak chance I don't get on the volunteer list or get a badge... San Diego is still a lovely city that I wanna visit and explore again anyway lol

I dont plan on more than 1 day. Got the Saturday for my party and Thursday for another friend.

This is why you should log into your account leading up to the event. Since the browser I normally use was also denied by Captcha. So I made sure I knew which browsers would work before this morning by making sure I could log in.

FR. Firefox is my primary browser. I made sure I knew the password and had all my friend’s info copied in a note. Made sure everything was squared away except checking individual browsers. But life goes on. I was able to get Thursday and Sunday.

You definitely want to get in the room before it opens. But once you’re in it’s a random queue. It doesn’t matter if it ten minutes or two hours ahead of time. At least I think so anyways, anybody please correct me if I’m wrong here.

Correct. As long as you are in before 9am Pt, it doesn’t matter. Someone entering at 7:45am has the exact same odds as someone entering at 8:58am.

You can be in the waiting room as soon as it opens and still wind up at the end of the line, and you could join the waiting room in the last 30 seconds and wind up at or near the front
It's just a game of pure RNG luck tbh

This is late but there is zero point in joining before 7:30am because the waitroom is not even open.
The rest of the comments are correct, but they only apply between 7:30-8:59am.

My estimated wait time is down to 7 minutes!!!
Edit: Got in at 9:31am. Only wanted Friday and Saturday, was successful. This will be my 5th year attending. And this was by far, the fastest I ever been able to get through.

Welp, lost connection to the site on my phone and it wouldn't reconnect unless I refreshed, so I think I got booted to the back. BUT I still have my tablet going and got a tiny bit of blue behind the bird! (even with the "more than an hour" still up)

Last year, I think many of us found Return Registration more competitive to Open Registration. Many didn't get anything during Return Registration, but everyone that queued up in the waiting room was able to get at least Sunday during Open Registration. That is the first time that happened since 2012 or so.

Getting the "Preview Night sold out" update right as I got into the last five minutes of queue...
