Sorry if I’m late to the party and y’all already know… but I did not realise Sabrina is going to be playing Ginger Rogers in the new Fred Astaire biopic!

Excited to see her in such an old-school glamour role!

Have fun! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdamv-fo4xmo4Vy6KoCpXni_WWh7-SxxDUF71S5wfQ38xhSfQ/viewform?usp=dialog

I've got a chart going in r/AlignmentChartFills! Wish I could just crosspost it here but I know that could get real messy real fast. Winner will be decided by the aggregate of upvotes in this post and anywhere else I post this.

Drew this up for spooky season because it seems like such a fun mashup!

EDIT: to say she’s not actually meant to be a teenager in this drawing - Sabrina the teenage witch is merely a play on her name and the vibe of the piece

How to Play?:

There will be 3 lyrics displayed to give a hint at the song being referenced, along with the era its apart of. You have to guess the song based on the lyrics. The answered will be revealed on the next  day (whether it’s a Saturday or Tuesday). Remember, the lyrics are paraphrased to give you a challenge on what the song is. If you’re new, note that the album that the song comes from is in the form description, and also whatever album is the image header and color scheme.

What fabric should I use? I feel like blue is a bad choice with the amount thats already there, but idk if white would work either unless it's a certain shade. Send help pronto 😩 and please ignore my nombsite of a bed, I haven't had a chance to de-pill it yet.

Thanks, Carpenters!

I got my pressing today and was sad to see if came with a lot of ‘dings’ on it straight from the box. Did this happen to anyone else? I attached some pictures of a few of them but there were more.

I’ve never had this happen with Sabrina merch before.

### What is a Diptych?

In visual art, a **diptych** (pronounced *dip-tick*) is a single work made of two matching or contrasting panels placed side by side. The two pieces are designed to speak to each other, creating a larger meaning together than they would on their own.

In this video edit, I created a visual and poetic diptych pairing **Xochitl Gomez** and **Sabrina Carpenter**. Both photos feature them in retro black-and-white patterned corset looks, but each panel tells a completely different story through parallel poetry, contrasting color palettes, and regional cinema soundtracks.

---

### Panel 1: The Flower (Xochitl Gomez)

* **The Concept:** Xochitl represents warmth and organic joy. Even though her dress is monochrome, her sunny smile is what paints the room in color. Included a Spanish translation to honor her heritage.

* **Audio:** *Malare* (from the Malayalam movie *Premam*, composed by Rajesh Murugesan).

> **Tamil:**

> கருப்பும் வெள்ளையும்

> களித்து மணந்து

> அப்பூவின மென்மையை

> வண்ணந்தீட்டியதும்

> அவையனைவருக்கும்

> வண்ணந்தீட்டியது

> அப்பூவின் சிரிப்புத்தானே?

> **English Translation:**

> Black and white, wedded in joyful play,

> painted patterns upon that blooming flower;

> Yet wasn't it the smile of that very flower

> that painted true color

> across everyone in the room?

> **Spanish Translation:**

> El blanco y el negro,

> unidos en alegre fiesta,

> vistieron la silueta de aquella flor;

> Pero dime: ¿no fue la sonrisa de esa misma flor

> la que llenó de color a todo el mundo?

---

### Panel 2: The River (Sabrina Carpenter)

* **The Concept:** Sabrina represents fluid, cool intensity. Her name traces back to Celtic mythology as the goddess of the River Severn in Britain. Here, her color doesn't come from a warm smile, but from her sharp, freezing gaze.

* **Audio:** *Nadhiye Nadhiye* (from the classic Tamil movie *Rhythm*, composed by A.R. Rahman), an ode comparing a woman's nature to a flowing river.

> **Tamil:**

> கருப்பும் வெள்ளையும்

> களித்து மணந்து

> அந்நதியின் மேனியை

> வண்ணந்தீட்டியதும்

> அவையனைவருக்கும்

> வண்ணந்தீட்டியது

> அந்நதியின் விழிப்பார்வைதானே?

> **English Translation:**

> Black and white, wedded in joyful play,

> painted patterns upon that flowing river;

> Yet wasn't it the freezing gaze of that very river

> that painted true color

> across everyone in the room?

*Twin poems, twin patterns, two completely different energies. Would love to hear your thoughts!*
