Ragal means to fear. Mar is thirst. And Ndiaye (njaay) is usually a surname but can also mean "sale".

As for the two others, I don't think they are wolof words. Having them in the context of a sentence would help

Ragal mean afraid

So this translation is false?

Ndiaye is 'ruler' in the same way that Donald Trump's surname means 'to win', 'outrank', or 'to outdo' something - e.g. 'the need for blood donors trumps all other concerns'.

It's a name, first and foremost, that happens to have a meaning of its own right.

Γ€ ne pas confondre: Mar et Maar

  • Mar signifie avoir soif
  • Maar est un nom de famille Wolof (Γ±eeΓ±o)
-Ragal signifie avoir peur
  • Ndiaye est un nom de famille wolof
