I grew up when they hit you with a belt for a little while, soon realized it’s wrong and then denied they did it much later

The years are the birth years of the parents, not when it takes place.

The video is how the parents handled it. Boomers absolutely beat our asses.

Rather than parent, it was just ass beatings all around.

Im sayin… 86’ here and got my shit handed to me

But that’s the point? If you’re born in 86 then your parents are boomers and thus the first clip is what you endured. The meme is showing how those generations are as PARENTS, not how YOU born in those generations had parents.

It seems to be both kind of because don't we act the way we learned?

Nope. I got hit a lot. I’ve never hit my kid.

I don't think so. I was raised and whooped by boomers. I am an elder millennial. The thought of striking a child as punishment is instantly nauseating to me.

So the boomers coming out swinging and the millennials promising not to treat their kids like they were treated makes sense to me.

It should be instantly nauseating to everyone.

Well only if you’re a parent… if you’re not a parent then it’s only one

How was it in the coal mines?

The sketch is describing the parents’ generation, not the kids.

Right, some of us millennials were hit with belts, paddles, whatever was nearby and for however long it took for our parents got their anger out. 🤷‍♀️

Same. Asian parents handed down another level of beatdowns.

Try having a sicilian mother... Mf tried to club me over the head with a fender precision bass one day

Sorry bro, you have no idea what Indian moms and dads are like. I got you beat on this one. Not that this is a competition. I could go through the list of things they did (not just tried - but actually executed), but what's the point.

Oh... It wasn't a one time attempt. The wooden spoon, the belt, the broom, the backhand diamond ring to the face, the hair pulling, the list goes on

Tbf I was kind of asking for it

Same. In my case the spoon was metal and had been on the stove. It was meant to burn flesh. The belt was with the buckle end, and bitch couldn't aim so it hit my face. Hair pulling was my dad's fav and a punch to the face.
