It’s some shit you’d see on mythbusters. Just strapping a bunch of compressed air tanks on a car shell to see if it could jump like in the movie:____ like they’d always do with movie magic stuff. Movies used a lot of practical effects back in the day so this would’ve been right up their alley.

That’s some fuckin 90s rc commercial shit in a full sized car

I genuinely don’t get Reddit.

Like, obviously people aren’t going to be driving these on the roads, yet half the comments are people trying to seriously explain why we can’t drive them on the roads like they think other people think that.

In a vacuum, I'd think "hell yeah, that looks fun" knowing full well this is just a stunt. I loved Junkyard Wars and Mythbusters growing up. I am a little annoyed seeing all the memes saying "Elon Musk invented flying cars". Like, no.

Thats the part that kills me. This thing never flew once in the entire video. It did a vertical jump with a flip but immediately fell with nothing holding it in the air.

I guess Ive been flying all my life when I jump up to grab things by that logic.

Nobody is worried about getting fooled, they are worried about all the 'dummies' out there (who aren't them) getting 'fooled.' 'What does everybody think about this lawsuit against ChatGPT for allegedly giving bad psychology counseling?' "Nail them to cross!!!' "Would you listen to it an obey?" "Hell NOOOOO!!!!" "Would you trust Full Self Driving becasue the name is inaccurate?" "Hell NOOOOOOO! It's all the dummies out there, though!!! Mainly I hope leopards eat their face, but society must protect them!!!!"

Honestly the reaction to this is making me want to delete Reddit. So many bitter losers in here. Reddit deleted all the positive posts about this when it happened. It wasn't even in top posts on /r/technology

Yeah I don’t like musk’s loser ass either, but it’s not like he actually had anything to do with this thing

It is cool as shit

What immediately wrecks it are the assertions that the model sold is totally going to have those capabilities.

The downforce fan, sure. The cold jet thrusters? Lmao

It will but it won't be road legal.

There are 3 different versions.

I'd be surprised if they ever sold a model with this stuff attached other than as a marketing gimmick. Forget street legal someone does this at home and they are going to just end up flipping the car over or landing straight upside down and crush the car with them inside it. Its literally a button that causes the car to crash.

It won't be physics legal. That's the issue.
