She's literally never voiced a political opinion anywhere. Sweeney has publicly stated that she considers herself a non-political person focused on her work in the arts. In other words, the rest of the internet trying to drag her into this political crap are all being a bunch of incel jackasses that can't possibly comprehend someone just living their life and staying out of it. "How dare you not pick a side and dump all your social capital into that".
Now, she is technically a registered republican, but that doesn't really mean anything. It's actually normal for up to 10% of registered republicans to vote for the democratic candidate, and a lot of people just stick with the politics of their parents. Her parents are known MAGA supporters, but that doesn't mean she is. Hell my mom is a hardcore MAGA supporter, and I think Trump is a complete dumpster fire. In fact, Sydney avoids politics entirely probably because she's too busy working and enjoying her life. I don't agree with dragging people into politics when they seem to want nothing to do with it.
She doesn’t use her platform to divide people. She keeps her opinions to herself. You can engage with the political system and vote, as every citizen should, without turning it into a blue no matter who maga sh*t fest. I know though….. can’t decide on whether someone’s work is good or bad until they have sworn fealty to left and their moving definition of what words mean
That’s fine. But to not like someone because it’s rumored she’s a registered republican is dumb, especially if she votes on policies over “team.” I’ve know people to register for the opposite party just to try to ruin primaries for them. So dumb to judge people on politics over actions. This country is right where the elites want us. Divided af while they steal all the wealth
Registering for one party or the other doesn’t mean you support everything that party does. For instance, as a registered democrat, i am disgusted by Clinton’s crime act, i hate NAFTA, i despise the telecommunications act, i strongly disagree with glass steagall. I hate that Obama expanded the patriot act, bailed out the banks, bombed Syria so hard we ran out of bombs, and built the cages that Trump is using to lock up illegals. I didn’t vote for any of that crap
