Yeah but, you guys know the people in the video aren't actually step siblings right?

What are they banning, dialogue?

What a strange line in the sand to draw.

35

u/Lightbringer-1829 7h ago

Now they'll do actual siblings who dont act siblings

12

u/Yersini 7h ago

I can't wait for the ADR to drop.

In the UK it's gonna be the most uncanny "oh yeah Coworker"

13

u/BeneficialPenalty258 6h ago

Help me step coworker.

10

u/Yersini 6h ago

"we gotta be quick step CoWorker our Boss is going to be home soon, and they're gonna be pissed if they find us Not Doing the TPS reports"

I could get into it.

3

u/BeneficialPenalty258 6h ago

The older we get, the more niche it becomes. ‘Not doing TPS reports’, pure filth.

2

u/Yersini 6h ago

Next it'll be not wearing the cornflower blue tie on casual Tuesdays.

The degradation of our society knows no bounds.

u/AnyImpression6 3h ago

Have you seen my stapler?

3

u/brendark89 6h ago

We cant! We're only acquaintances, not lovers!

u/sociofobs 4h ago

That's been a thing for a long time if you know where to look and what to look for, hehe. Real incest isn't advertised as such, unlike all the fake role-play shit with horrendous acting everywhere. Weird, how so many people are into that, yet cringe at the real stuff.

u/TheWhistleThistle 3h ago

Yes. They're banning the dialogue. And presumably titles and credits that likewise allude to the fiction. Of course, compliant websites and producers will simply strike any explicit usage of the words, nothing at all will have been achieved, unless they make it so that videos that, by the vibes-based determination of some panel, have characters that are sufficiently relative-coded. "You're under arrest because in this pornographic video you and a bunch of unrelated, consenting adults produced, the two stars' characters seem (by the interpretation of... someone) to be related. But they're not, you say? Well, that's not up to you, and because it's vibes based, it's not something that can be objectively determined, so it's up to our panel".

So the question is whether this is another step in the direction of moral purity laws under which pornography is entirely illegal, or ineffectual busywork the government is doing just to be seen to be doing something, like when you walk around with a clipboard or box at work to avoid being given a task.

I'm not for this ban, but if you were to make a movie of a grown man sleeping with a child, even if that "child" was a grown actress who just looked young, that movie would still be banned.

2

u/mio26 5h ago

I don't think they need actors now

1

u/saitilkE 12m ago

Ever heard of Nabokov?

51

u/BeneficialPenalty258 7h ago

But how is step brother going to get stepsister free from the washing machine?

12

u/Worldliness_Normal 6h ago

Or what about when Dad will "be home any minute" but step-mom needs some "company"???? These are real questions.

11

u/Steamrolled777 7h ago

Is that the doorbell ringing? who ordered pizza?

9

u/SomeOnionHater 6h ago

With extra sausage. 😎👉👉

5

u/SilenceBavard 5h ago

Enough, we need to get her out of the dryer

1

u/why_1337 5h ago

That's not incest, is it?

11

u/De_Dominator69 5h ago

This law is classing it as such. Which is why it's so dumb and massively overreaching, considering actual real relations between step-siblings would be perfectly legal.

3

u/Jormungand1342 5h ago

So if step-siblings have sex and record it for sale. The relationship is legal but the porn isnt. Big oof. Hope they aren't voyeurs

0

u/BeneficialPenalty258 4h ago

You are right. The law is for actual portrayal of incest. Though it also covers step siblings where one is portraying someone under 18.

2

u/AlternativePea6203 2h ago

It's already illegal if anyone is under or portrayed to be under 18, so that's not true.

1

u/BeneficialPenalty258 2h ago

Just going by what the article says.

u/ChrisXDXL 6h ago

"Oi, you got your focking wankin' license"

6

u/Bynming 3h ago

I believe it's actually a r/loicense in the UK

29

u/lluciferusllamas 6h ago

Oh look, VPN sales just went up

11

u/No-Impact1573 4h ago

They will be banning VPN, that's the end game.

4

u/mansbakedbrev 4h ago

China tried and failed

2

u/recommendsnothing 2h ago

It's not about succeeding.

It's about bashing down the door and taking all the electronic devices of someone who has an 'illegal vpn' whenever it's convenient for the state.

2

u/IrefusetoturnVPNoff 1h ago

Honestly with the way hardware is going I think the play will be to just heavily restrict the hardware itself. Make everything cloud computing where all you can actually own is something like a stripped down chromebook then you pay a subscription for your computing power from the almighty cloud, which gives them 100% control over everything you'd do.

They wouldn't even need to deliberately implement any hardware restrictions, the market's heading that way anyway with RAM, GPU, and storage costs skyrocketing with no signs of them coming down at all for a couple of years at least.

A dedicated bedroom coder will come up with a workaround to pretty much any software level restrictions, but nobody can just build RAM or a hard drive at home.

1

u/DrachenDad 17m ago

That's not going to happen, schools, business, and the government use VPNs.

1

u/Maetivet 16m ago

VPNs are used for a lot more than people wanting a crafty wank; you couldn't ban VPNs, it'd be akin to banning cars to stop speeding.

1

u/Maetivet 17m ago

It'll be an offence to posses it, i.e. watch it; so whilst a VPN might help hide the activity, it'd still essentially be illegal.

u/flipyflop9 7h ago

Can’t have some cheeky fun anymore…

5

u/AnubissDarkling 6h ago

God forbid a stepbrother have hobbies

0

u/Top_Conference_477 7h ago

History doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes

9

u/Trustoryimtold 6h ago

Help me step third cousin or whatever the legal line in the sand is

5

u/J3remyD 6h ago edited 6h ago

Is it technically incest when the characters are not actually biologically related?

Not saying I approve of incest portrayals, but it’s pretty unlikely IMO that the actors are ever related in the first place.

Now choking?
WAY too easy to permanently harm someone if you don’t know EXACTLY what you’re doing, so I am strongly of the opinion it should not be encouraged or normalized unless both parties use safety precautions and research.

3

u/vi_sucks 2h ago

They're not even banning depictions of people pretending to be biologically related. That stuff bascially doesn't exist any more.

They're banning "step-bro" and "step-mom" stuff.

7

u/AnubissDarkling 6h ago

VPN's exist and became extra popular when the UK demanded it's citizens prove their age to consume adult material not so long ago, so I'm sure this affects one or two old schoolers who have no idea what a VPN is, but to the average porn consumer this will do absolutely fuck all but burn time and money which could be spent on more important things

I love me a bit of maturbating...

*maturabating

3

u/No_Director_2570 6h ago

But my father is away on a business trip, who is going to fuck my STEPmom?

5

u/Defiant_Lawyer_5235 6h ago

Is Game of Thrones gonna be illegal now?

5

u/Worldliness_Normal 6h ago

Imagine being the person overseeing enforcement of this one....

4

u/Old_Relationship3460 6h ago

It's already impossible to watch porn in the UK. You need a VPN to change your location.

1

u/CronoMass 5h ago

Makes bold claim, then explains why claim is wrong.

u/yewscott 3h ago

What?

5

u/kon--- 6h ago

GoT?

What about all the choking in the MCU?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-tGLbvmN_A

2

u/Longer---Donger 7h ago

What about Kuckolding? Since most of reddit are into that

2

u/sociofobs 4h ago

Actual incest porn hasn't been a thing on mainstream pornsites since the golden days of the internet, it's on niche websites that don't give a flying fuck about legalities unless it's CP. What are they banning now, fake incest titles? "Oh no step bro, we're being outlawed" lmao.

2

u/Random_Guy_47 3h ago

Why is the UK government so obsessed with regulating porn lately?

4

u/Dramatic_Ad6043 6h ago

Season 8 should have been banned for completely different reasons

1

u/Zan_in_NZ 6h ago

guess they musta changed the law on ''step''

1

u/IWear2BlackSocks 5h ago

Darth vader doesn't like this whatsoever. National ban on star wars incoming...

1

u/Relative_Shop4676 5h ago

O thought u had to pay for porn now

1

u/Don_Reuter 4h ago

Isn’t that already banned?

1

u/Chrizzly02 3h ago

Yeah, good luck enforcing that 🤣

1

u/Far_Balance_3117 2h ago

Look on the bright side.

The alarmingly large rate of people getting stuck in washing machines is going to come down.

1

u/halfasleep90 37m ago

So if someone is choking on some dill it gets banned? What are they doing over there?

1

u/Odd_Lifeguard7720 3m ago

Hhhhmmmm all the things to focus on and one of the things they choose is this? 🤔

0

u/foreverflyingsparrow 6h ago

As long as they don't touch feet porn I couldn't care less

2

u/vi_sucks 2h ago

They'll get to it eventually.

-5

u/RedEyesGoldDragon 5h ago

Incest, okay sure, makes absolute sense.

But choking? really dude? One of the like, go-to semi-kinky things people do during sex that's honestly pretty normal these days? Like I get if they mean harsh asphyxiation but I'm pretty sure that's not what most people do or is even very common.

0

u/hoppidygoop 5h ago

The normalisation of it is what they're trying to stop.
