Have you never seen Fox News? You know the main stream media outlet that complains constantly about brown mustard, tan suits and bicycle helmets. How long did they complain about Talarico taking sick days?
No, conservatives have vastly over played the victim/middle school mean girl card in this reality
Because to the leftist mind, all fiction is a political statment. Anything that diesn't critcize the status quo supports the Status Quo, and the Status Quo is Capitalism, which is literally Fascism.
If you dont want to send any messages you just dont say shit at all. How hard would it have been for them to never say anything? Or what if they just said "We're so happy to see everyone here tonight get together and enjoy the music"
instead by bringing up others who are sending messages and framing it in a negative way, they are sending a message as well. They made a POINT to bring it up. They could have just not done it at all, right?
There doesn't have to be a message. But if you're going to stand up and criticize that some bands have a message, that's a problem. Het's basically drawn a line in the sand that there cannot, or at least should not, be a message.
And yeah, for a band that has a number of songs that are damn close to a message themselves, it feels a bit weird to make that declaration.
It's unhealthy for someone to say 'you're not allowed to have and share an opinion'. In this case, it's telling other entertainers they can't (or shouldn't).
Just because I can ignore him doesn't mean it's a good thing to say and sets a negative standard.
I missed the part where they said you are not allowed to have and share an opinion. They never said others shouldnt be allowed like you stated. Big difference between saying they don't want to do something and saying others shouldn't be allowed.

Why does there always have to be a message?
