Musk does, what is now well understood to be, pump ups for his companies to bring in capital. Like the reveal of the Cybertruck, he showed it off to bring in money. In doing so he announced to the world what he was doing, have his competitors know where he was headed and they beat him to market. A market that was non existent and that some have pulled out of. This product is even less of-use. Obviously the production vehicle will not do any of this. So he just showed off a vehicle you cannot with features you will never be able to buy. A some of his supplicants think this was a great product demo and signs of good things to come.

And the shareholders are all thinking "WTF?!? Is this what we invested in?" which explains why Tesla stock is also driving off a cliff.
