To educate : this is not a student only manifestation, it is a all citizen manifestation, mostly because student starter the heat, but people followed because price of gas, tax ect.. So you will see citizen that doesn't look like students and its normal

Yes, obviously they are. That's also apart of my point. When violence and vandalism happend, the cause they are fighting for looses sympathy and instead a lot of people just look at the people causing the vandalism and since a lot of them are black / Middle Eastern looking, ofc. That's what's going to happend.

But why dont the government use more force to stop this? Most be horrible to witness such stupidity taking place in the city you live in.

This is going to cause so many people to vote for radical policies as a response to the government letting so many people cause mindless destruction?

Simple

A ton of people protest against laws

Government ignore it and give more money to police and make more laws to give more right to police violences

So now 5 minutes into a peaceful protest there is already teargas everywhere and grenades thrown into the crowd by cops, you can't stay peaceful when you're actively getting attacked

In a week of protest there was more people arrested and injured than there was during the months of protests in 2018 (which was a bigger protest)

Since early 2000 the government is intentionally making the police more violent and ignores every single protests, in 2018 they said they would revert the policies that begun the protests to then redo it again while all the medias were focused on something else

You definitely can stay peaceful when attacked by police. If the protesters were peaceful even when attacked by police, i think it would have a huge symbolic value actually.

Now it fuels the wrong ideas, cost a lot in damages and can be twisted into just being violent riots.

Im just not in favor of vandalism and violence, especially when you're trying to protest for education, cost of living and the like.

This just cant be the solution for these issues, and nomatter what, it's going to be over shadowed by how its being seen by a lot of people. The see do many people only using these riots as a reason to say France is out of control, falling apart and or using it to show why countries need inti immigration / remigration, to not end up like in a situation like France.

So it doesn't really seem to get the point their trying to make across, not in the rest of the EU/world atleast. I dont know about French media. I just now i would loose sympathy with whatever cause causing this much chaos.

You haven't been there. Police has thrown grenades at highschoolers. A student lost his hand.
