Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)

Hello, I'm pretty new to reddit and I'm trying to tune up my feed. I am a spider enjoyer and I know everyone is different but I'm not really interested in seeing a bunch of fearful posts about spiders. Im sure if I looked into groups for jumping spiders it would be less fear motivated posting as people seem to like them more. I do like jumping spiders but they aren't my only interest, I think all spiders are cool, they have cool shapes and colors, different habits and hunting techniques. I just want to lurk and appreciate cool spiders while collecting fun facts on the way rather than witnessing people being scared of something i think is neat. Any recommendations for groups that are of a similar mindset?

There is a spider that lives in my room. I leave him alone because he scares me. I only see him about once a week when he goes out usually.
Lately he’s been coming out more, like multiple times a day. It’s worrying because he just sits in the open like he’s mocking me. I leave the room and wait for him to leave the open so I don’t have to look at him.
But lately I’ve been realizing he only moves when he thinks I’m not looking. Like I thought they didn’t like quick movements so before I would sit still and he would move. But today I did an experiment where I pretended to look away and observed him through the corner of my eye. He started moving immediately. Then when I face him he stops again. I tried facing him and being completely still and he recognized I was looking at him.
Is this regular? I don’t understand how he can tell if I’m looking at him when he’s not even facing me. Can he see that far? I’m super worried that he will learn how to sneak around my room more efficiently. This isn’t a joke. What should I do? I don’t know what spider he is, he’s about the size of a dime and pure black from what I can tell. He definitely has a higher intelligence than regular spiders that’s for sure. I’m super concerned.

Freaked this poor girl out when I was trying to relocate her and she gave me a full-on threat posture! Didn't get a pic with the legs up and fangs spread, but she did show them off for a few more seconds before calming down.
Excuse the bad pic, I work with what I can when I'm at work :p

Found in my home HVAC closet. Harmful, or harmless?

She didn’t have a web and it’s getting pretty cold here, I’m gonna take her home and see if she’ll lay eggs since she looks gravid. Hopefully I can save her spiderlings.
I named him Tim. He's gonna eat the ants that try and get in. I asked AI what it is and it said Hacklemesh Weaver but the photos didn't look very similar.

No clue what she is, but I thought the coloring was worth a share. My phone camera isn't that great, but you get the idea.
Photographed around 1PM on Saturday, October 17.

Found on my toilet paper this morning 😅 it’s less than 1cm in size. Assuming it’s some sort of crab spider but it’s so much smaller than the ones I see online? Is it a baby?

This spider has been living in my bathroom window for about 2 months. It's name is Franklin. Today was the first day I got a really good look at it and I'm slightly concerned it's a widow of some sort. Any help on id/what I should do about it? Thanks!
