Evening all, I printed this Steam controller holder that I modified to add the Valve text too, which I think looks really good

The reason for my post is that it annoys me that the magnets are so strong that the controller pulls the holder off the shelf and the puck off the holder

I'm thinking of glueing the puck into the holder then weighting or screwing the holder down

Are the pucks still impossible to get hold of if I do this and it happens to fail? And is this something you would do? Or would you just keep the puck floating and accept that it's going to move/fall off every time you use the controller

For example, is there a way to see charge % easily ? Any apps for it or extensions ?
Can I map trackpad’s zones as on steamdeck ? And how ?

Hello, my steam controller started to act weird lately, with both sticks drifting like crazy on down + left.

It started yesterday right after the last controller update, then it disappeared and now it's back again. I tried to turn it off / on. Rebooting bazzite computer. But it's still there.

I also tested it on my steamdeck with wire and bluetooth but same issue.

Anyone experiencing the same thing ?

I don't think i can reinstall the controller update, can i ?

And i could not find any calibration tool in steam os.

Any advice ?

Is there something wrong with my controller? Does anyone else controller seem to do a double input when pressing the triggers? I don't really notice it in game at all but I tried using it with the keyboard and it behaves very weird.

For example lets say I want to play the Witcher 3 and for it to show PS5 controller button prompts, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback etc

I'm on an app on my phone called droid deck trying to set this up

But also want to know how I can make this work on pc

Also if I want to set this up wirelessly on either my PC or my phone and for all the features to work

How do I set that up ?

In my "default" Steam controller action set, the back key is bound to send the "Escape" keyboard key.

In my "trans" action set, there's a button chord to return to "default" when you hold the right grip and press the back key.

Last week, it suddenly started happening that when I execute a switch back to "default" as above, I get an "Escape" key send from the default action set; the switch action is failing to consume the escape press, and it's getting through to my default action set, where it sends Escape (or even combos of Escape + whatever other key I was pressing).

It was working fine for years. What's changed, and how do I fix it?

I made a radial menu on my right stick but I want to cancel it without selecting any option when I press the stick. Is there a way to do it apart from adding an empty command?

I created this little cover for the steam controller (2026) that works pretty well.

1. Steam reports no button or stick is pressed/moved while in the case.
2. Dongle slides in and out easily.
3. Case stays on despite its small footprint.
4. Made for throwing in a bag so buttons and sticks don't get smashed.

Why? Because it was a fun quick project.

I recommend PETG since it can bend frequently for the constant insertion and removal of the controller.

On the steamdeck, the Adaptive centering in the joystick option is supposed to make the new "virtual center" wherever you touch the touchpad at. However it does nothing until i touch the middle of the physical touchpad, which defeats the purpose of the adaptive center. I played around with the options but nothing seems to make the virtual center move from the trackpad's center.

Is this also happening on the steam controller? I dont have one so i cant test it.

I tried disabling the guide button focuses Steam" but it still opens big picture mode. If I disable "enable guide button chords for controllers" then I guide + Y won't work. Are there any workarounds?

My action layer that disables Gyro and Flick Stick keeps turning off on its own! It seems to happen when I shoot my gun after using a melee, use my 1st or 4th abilities, enter or exit operator, or possibly others that I haven't noticed. It should only be switching when I press down on my dpad

I originally reserved in May like everyone else but I was away when my email came in. Apparently they are still not done with May reservations .. Should I just give up and buy second hand ? It feels like I will never get mine otherwise

Since the newest controller update. I can't seem to pair the puck or machine built in pick to my controllers L1+A profile. When I turn it on it turns off for a few seconds and if I put it on the puck or plug it in, it defaults to the R1+A profile. I like to have them both linked just Incase I'm having connection issues with one. Anyone else having trouble setting up both profiles?

Is anyone else's Touch Menu and Radial Menu now in different or wrong locations?

I tried adjusting the Menu positions and can't get them to go back to where they was before.

I'm on Linux but I doubt that's the issue and haven't seen anyone else talking about this.

I'm very new to customizing my steam controller and was hoping for help creating a shadowplay shortcut that works no matter what game I'm playing. Is that possible without having to modify the controller config on each new game?

In particular I'd like to do something like "hold L5+R5 for a second" as the shortcut to send the "ctrl+f12" command (my shadowplay hotkey), but I'm not too fussy on the particulars for that. I mostly care about setting a global default across all games.

Around two days ago the intensity of the right trackpad vibration suddenly changed and now it's much weaker than the left trackpad. In the settings left and right haptic feedback are both at the same intensity but the right trackpad is much weaker.

Does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if it's a hardware or software thing.

So I joined the reservation queue and waited. Five months went by, and I'd honestly completely forgotten about it.

Then, literally ONE DAY after my birthday, I got the email saying I could finally complete my purchase!

I couldn't believe the timing. What are the odds?! It's like Steam decided to send me the perfect birthday present! 🎁

I don’t have a video unfortunately, but I randomly tried throwing my controller and it made a MEEOOOWW noise instead of the wilhelm scream! Must’ve been a new update :) I think I’m the first to document this?? Pretty cool either way.

For some reason when i try to pair my controller to the puck and the steam machine internal they both always pair to the second slot and overwrite the previous pairing. Has anyone had a similar issue and found a solution or is this an issue with the latest firmware?
