I'm looking to start a new group of people interested in theatre in the Syracuse area. This group would consist of current and aspiring actors, stage crew, directors, playwrights, and general fans of theatre, but is not limited to these. Eventually I would love for us to put on a production of our own, but that is far down the line. Good evening Syracuse! I have started a group on Meetup, as well as discord for young adults and college students to meetup and hang out at local arcades for a bit. I’ll include a link to the Meetup group below, as well as a link to the discord server.

Our first meetup will be this coming Monday, October 5th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dave and Busters in the Destiny USA mall. If you would like to join, please join the Discord server or the Meetup group, or preferably both. If you can only join one for whatever reason, the discord server is preferable as that is where the majority of the communication will be.

We're hosting our next Syracuse Dad Society meetup on Saturday, October 10th, at The Arcade Project at Finger Lakes Premium Outlets in Waterloo!

If you're a dad in the Syracuse or Central New York area looking to meet other dads, make some new friends, and spend some quality time with your kids, come join us!

💰 GROUP DISCOUNT: If we get at least 25 people, we can arrange a 10% group discount. The first 25 spots must be prepaid.

Hello! 30F here — I’ve been in SYR for a few years and always try to go to a few orchestra performances and musicals/season. I got accustomed to that as a solo hobby, but it’d be cool to go to shows with other people! Lmk if anyone’s looking for the same sort of thing (or any groups are taking new music friends). I usually go to at least a few Masterworks/year and a show or two at Landmark and Syracuse Stage; haven’t been to Redhouse yet but want to try it out; and am up for trying out new theaters or types of performances).

(Caveat, I may not be able to go to a ton of productions — the work call schedule will get hectic for four months in winter — but it’d be neat to meet up with people for a few shows).

Feel free to DM if interested! (And fair warning, I’m new to Using Reddit as opposed to just lurking on it — so if I don’t answer for a bit, I probably just haven’t realized there’s a message).

👨‍👧‍👦 Capacity: They have plenty of capacity, so accommodating our group shouldn't be an issue.

💰 GROUP DISCOUNT:

If we get 25+ people, we can pre-book and receive 10% off. We would need to prepay for the first 25 people. Anyone additional who comes that day can mention they're with Syracuse Dad Society before paying and receive the same 10% discount.

🪑 SEATING:

Tables are first come, first served, and they said they're generally not filling up right now. Reserved tables are available if we choose a catering package.

🥤 FOOD & DRINKS:

No outside food or drinks are allowed, including water bottles. They sell snacks and drinks on-site and are working on getting their full hot kitchen running, although they're not sure whether it'll be ready by October 10th.

Before I create the official event and commit to anything, I'd like your feedback:

Would you be interested in coming? And if so, roughly how many people would you bring, including kids?

Also, would you prefer that we pre-book to get the 10% group discount, or keep it casual and have everyone pay individually when they arrive?
