Cant beat the lunatic cultist or duke fishron is it my equipment or do i just need more attempts

Upgrade the gauntlet.

Lose the balloons.

Shield of Cthulu - is it an expert world? Did you get the Demon Heart?

Get the Celestial Shell.

1. Fight the wof again to get the demon heart and extra accessory slot you're missing.
   
2. Upgrade mechanical glove to fire gauntlet with a magma stone (dropped from lava/hell bats)
   
3. Ditch the boots and balloons since you have mothron wings, then use your empty slots for better accessories like the celestial shell, destroyer emblem, or frozen shield.

You have Mothron wings. You do not need boots and you do not need the balloons, since they all more or less do the same thing. You're playing primarily Melee, so get some better accessories.

I think you are missing the WOF demonic heart or playing on classic mode, if you are playing on classic mode i could give you basic tips like looking for other people arenas soy you can make yours, get some potions they are pretty broken, reforge your accesories and weapon with the goblin, get the shimmer buffs if you haven't, upgrade your accesories like master ninja set for shield of chuthulu, empress of light or duke fishron wings, molten guanglet insteat of mechanical one, and instead of bundle of horseshoe ballon, myth talisman, celestial shell, restoration shield, whatever fits better for you

With bosses, tips for cultist and duke, i recommend you trying out empress of light is duke fishron its too hard just be careful of spawning her on nightime, i strongly recommend you look for her patterns and use the witch broom, i say this because in expert mode she gives you a inf flight accesory which can make the duke fishron fight 10x easier, duke fishron fight is pretty much easy just flight around him until there's a sharnado on your place so you move from there, if he haves a third phase it's better using the shield of chuthulu instead of master ninja gear to dodge, because the dodge takes to long and he will get you on the other lap of Charges on this attack he will charge to you 1, 2, 3 times and restart, with lunatic cultist only thing i could tell you to bother with is the fight zone and hitting the right clone, it's pretty easy to know if it's the real or fake one, when he is doing this hit it with possesed axe for precission if you want, that's pretty much it

Practice or optimize, below is some optimizations from a Master Mode perspective.

I recommend dropping the Terra boots and Baloons for amphibian boots (they have the extra ascent speed of the balloons and the sprint of Terra)

That saves you 1 slot that you can use for something else.

Reforge to full Warding or Armoured if you’re strapped for gold.

Use that saved slot for damage if you like, 1 emblem is the same damage as full menacing.

Upgrade that glove with flesh knuckles.

Prepare a good arena with Bast Statues, heart lanterns, campfires and Gnomes.

Make evil biome damage potion. regen, endurance and ironskin potions.

Use Ichor or Venom flasks and lastly use bewitching table and summoner potion to achieve 3 free summons for added/free dps.

Valhalla armor is my favourite at this stage for a mix of offense and defense

It seems you’re on expert or master since you have the shield of Cthulhu so missing the demon heart and extra inventory slot. Most of these accessories are not necessarily good this late in the game. Def ditch the balloons but keep the boots since they increase movement speed and give you extra flight time. I also found the moon charm to work super well for melee and waiting for night to fight the bosses (although I did find out later the celestial shell is a like better version of that hahaha) The warrior emblem is also very helpful since it gives a pretty big melee boost. The other thing I use pretty consistently is the Star Veil. Any other accessory is up to preference. If you’re struggling with the Terrablade the Flying dragon is a pretty good sword (I’d say better but can’t remember stats off the top of my head). You get it from Betsy during the old one’s army event with a 25% chance.
Stack up on as many potions and buffs as you can that will be useful. Don’t ignore stuff like swiftness potions which will help with movement and evading attacks. If you haven’t already bring an alchemy table to the shimmer and get the alchemy flask. When you click on it, the duration of most potions and buffs increases by 20% which can be helpful for long fights, which I find the first time fighting a boss always takes much longer. Just keep on trying and don’t give up! You’ve got this :)

Before my friend and I got better at the game, we used to cheese bosses a lot by placing a bed next to the nurse and just recalling to her anytime we needed to heal, makes almost any boss easy to beat with minimal set up

Jungle armors are mediocres. You should go back to hallowed armor. Anyway a mix of OOA tier 3 pieces of armor with hallowed headgear gives the best stats.

Also your accessories are terribles, you could go for the celestial shell

I found beetle armour worked just fine for fishron up to moon lord especially if they’re playing melee.

Well, I'm obviously a melee player and beetle armor is a mediocre one. Guess you never tried mixing armor pieces with OOA ones.
