Suggestion Accessory Minmaxing is Exhausting
I feel like the obsession a lot of people have with maximizing the perfect accessory setup is taken a bit far here. Every time someone has their accessories visible on a post or people mention any speed accessories people jump in talking about wasting slots you could be using on damage. Just use a mount, don't use this, you're wasting it. Wow you aren't using peak strategy? What's wrong with you? Pathetic.
It isn't playing it wrong to not minmax your every experience, you can just use the stuff you like or want to use. Chill.
Also, you have like 3 loadouts. I personally split them into different purposes. Maximum efficiency really isn't the end of the world.

I wholeheartedly agree with this when it comes to classic, and sometimes even expert, mode You shouldn't need to have all the best accessories all the time just pick the ones you particularly like and go with that
Unless you're doing a challenge then you should start minmaxing, for your own good.

yea i agree, I barely go for damage accessories in most runs and i like just getting a ton of mobility things. I know that some people are coming from a 'helping other people' perspective and they are genuinely trying to offer suggestions to people that are struggling at certain points, but that's definitely spiraled out of control.
(tangent:) One other thing i've seen and tried which is super fun is panic necklace with spikes on arena floor, it's not applicable on classic and expert (i don't think expert at least unless you have insane defense), but you can move so fast with wings with a pretty easy loadout to get, and it makes dodging mechs so fun and pretty easy, even if the fights last longer

Honestly, the more I play Terraria, the more I feel like damage boost stacking is not even good. Pure mobility and defense + a single emblem feels a lot more potent.

i mean, that's probably from (for lack of my ability to think of the better word,) the gimmick of damage getting less useful every percent (because it stacks addatively) and defense getting better for every point (due to them cutting off a higher and higher proportion of damage). and then mobility is really variable but lowkey op but like also hard to measure

I really love doing specific builds ( dodge, regen , mobility etc) but people should ever do this type of behavior. It's a sandbox game, and more than that it's a game not a job, let people enjoy however they want. Without makeing some things right and others as wrong.

The funny part is that using survivability accessories increases your ability to focus on hitting bosses and stuff and you can actually get faster kill times with less damage due to this. A little more damage does not win the fight, but not dying sure does.

I’m guilty of being a min-maxer lol. I love (especially post golem) getting all the emblems and getting like +30% dmg and crit across the board at the sacrifice of all my mobility and survivability. It also gives me an excuse to not bother with terraspark/ankh shield B)

I mean if you like doing it then power to you, that's the right way to play if you like it. The issue only arises if you think not doing that is incorrect or wrong in some way

Idk if it’s the same thing but often if I see a new player using both cloud in a bottle and a balloon, I will tell them to combine them at their tinkerers workshop if they already have one
Also saw someone still using feral claws at golem, told them they could upgrade to power and it’s mechanical variants

Accessories need more alternatives. There should not be a perfect, logical set up for everything.

I don't know who downvoted this post but you're absolutely right.
If you want to minmax your slots and strategize how to get the best stats then you can do that, but accessories are supposed to be fun.
I love the ram rune. Will I remember to use it often? Probably not. Are there better options? Possibly. Am I still going to equip it on a melee playthrough? Hell yeah.
