miscellaneous [Dark Trope] Implied child death

• Family Guy - In a deleted scene, Evil Stewie is shown entering the bully's house and giving him a noogie. It seems rather harmless until Stewie mentions "Why's his knuckle turning red?" Then screams of the bully are heard, implying that Evil Stewie noogied his head so hard it punched a hole through the bully's head.

• Old (2021) - In a deleted cold opening, a man is shown crawling and shouting for help in the aging island. What makes this more terrifying is that this person could originally have been a baby or child, it's implied since he's walking on all fours

Halloween 3’s ending implies that at least one timezone aired the Silver Shamrock commercial, killing every child wearing one of their masks that contained the piece of Stonehenge.

The third movie is unique in that it is the only one not to feature or focus on Michael Meyers. The original intent was that the franchise would turn into an anthology series after Halloween 2, featuring different horror stories all revolving around the holiday of Halloween. The first attempt was about a conspiracy by a Celtic worshipper of the traditions of Samhain who created androids that somehow stole a piece of Stonehenge and brought it to America. It was then placed into every novelty Halloween mask sold by the company with commercials telling its viewers that there is a “Big Giveaway” on Halloween night, which turns out to be a flashing symbol that actives the Stonehenge piece in the mask. The wearer is then slowly killed as bugs pour out of the mask, killing anyone who happened to be nearby as well. The children are sacrifices to the Celtic gods. The movie ends with the protagonist calling television stations to not play the commercial, which show a child seeing one station turning it off. Shrugging, they just go to another channel as the Silver Shamrock company bought time on all the airwaves.

Interesting. That ending definitely fits the prompt!

It's my personal belief that if they'd done this movie as Halloween 2, and then did Halloween 2 as 3 or 4, they could have had their anthology series. But starting a pattern and then juking off the moment you've established it is always going to be a hard sell.
