Political Reminder that name calling is not permitted

That includes calling people "bootlicker" or "cuck" or stating/implying that another user is performing adult acts on a given politician (or anyone else). I bring those up specifically because, in recent time, these have been the most common types of personal attacks.

As strongly as you may feel about current events, calling people derogatory names is a contravention of Rule 4 and will be removed. Attack the opinion, not the user.

Sorry for your understanding and thank you for the inconvenience.

Political Reminder that racism is not permitted

There has been a recent uptick in overtly racist content, i.e., use of racial slurs in a derogatory context, or stating/implying that some races are inherently/genetically inferior to others, etc.

Reminder that such nonsense is NOT PERMITTED, no matter what race you are or what race you are targeting. If you see any racist posts or comments, PLEASE REPORT THEM.

Even though we clearly enumerated this in our rules, some of you apparently did not get the memo. So for enhanced clarity and to assist in comprehension, I asked ChatGPT to create a visual aid for you all.

Political I’m glad they’re investigating Ilhan Omar.

Im glad she got raided. And not because I “don’t like democrats”. No, I think any type of allegation that comes upon a politician should be taken as seriously as possible. I think politicians should be held to the highest standard possible. Tax audit them every single year, investigate every possible crime, lock them up if they break them. And before you say anything about Trump and his administration, I think every single person in it should be spending the rest of their lives behind bars right now for being implicate or aiding in covering up the Epstein Scandal and a slew of other things.

Something that bothers me is every-time a politician or their kin get investigated, Hillary, Trump, Hunter Biden, Ilhan Omar, Don Jr I think at one point, you have one side saying “investigate them and if they have nothing to fear they have nothing to hide” and then you have the other side saying “noooooo don’t look, there’s nothing to see so please DO NOT LOOK” Fuck no. I don’t care. If a politician has nothing to fear they have nothing hide, and if they have something hide then they can get the fuck out of office. I hope Ilhan Omar is innocent, I do, but if she is guilty then for the betterment of this country she can suffer the consequences. That’s my TedTalk

Political What's happening in France should be a wake up call to the rest of the world

• Upvotes

Rioters burning things down and storming government buildings waving Palestinian flags are clearly not about student rights. It's a full fledged attack from people who hate the West and have no desire to assimilate. But it's not exclusive to France or even the West, it's everywhere.

Islam is an ideology and we need to be free to criticize ideologies, especially violent and regressive ones. This is what globalize the intifada looks like and it's horrible

Political Feminists care more about the Cornell 7 than Moises Freire

It's impossible to take feminists seriously when they're totally silent on a guy that killed a girl and sexually assaulted her. And while she was unconscious, he texted pictures of her to his friends instead of getting her help. This is an actual real, proven case that would be a slam dunk to focus on. Unfortunately the perpetrator isn't white so they can't blame it on their favorite targets, so they don't care at all

Political Public K-12 schools in the U.S. have become breeding grounds for far-left, anti-American ideology.

Far-left, anti-western, anti-American fervor has conquered public middle and high schools throughout the U.S., even in "red" states and regions.

In January and February, hundreds/thousands of high schools and middle schools nationwide had student walkouts protesting ICE. Examples in California: LA/Fresno/Stockton, San Diego, Bay Area, Riverside, Redlands, Long Beach, Clovis, Santa Clarita, Redondo Beach, Orange County, Santa Barbara, San Lorenzo, Fresno/Clovis/Madera, Chula Vista, Winters, Carlsbad, Mission Viejo/San Clemente/San Juan Capistrano

Texas: San Antonio, The Woodlands, Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, Hutto/Austin/Dallas/Houston, Austin, Buda

Others: Spring Township PA, Overland Park KS, Salt Lake City UT, New Albany IN, Tampa FL, Santa Fe NM, San Tan Valley AZ, Las Vegas NV, Seattle WA, Fremont NE, Portage IN, Sarasota FL, Woods Cross UT.

Student protesters, aged 11-18, chanted: "no human is illegal", "ICE out" and anti-ICE/anti-Trump profanities and many waved Mexican flags. In Santa Fe NM, students as young as 11 protested. If you think "red" cities and states aren't infected too, look at the list of places mentioned. An incomplete database can be found here.

On Tuesday THIS WEEK, a large mob of students at Jefferson Middle School in Oceanside, CA walked out against ICE. Look at the video of the protest. Look at all the Mexican flags. This is what an invasion looks like. Illegal immigration + anchor babies + failure to assimilate. Last month in Colorado, anti-ICE walkouts occurred statewide, from blue Denver to red Greeley. The Denver protest turned violent.

In my conservative suburb way outside of Los Angeles, high schools (including the one I graduated from in the early 2020s) participated in the Jan/Feb protests with about a couple hundred students walking out in each school. It was more in many areas. This would've been unimaginable 15 years ago. If you know SoCal, and you told people in 2011 that 15 years later high schoolers in San Juan Capistrano, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, Redlands and Santa Clarita would be protesting against ICE while waving Mexican flags you'd be laughed out of the room. These are historically red strongholds. Even more crazily, this happened in red parts of red states, like heavily Mormon parts of Utah (!)

This is exactly the same as the French student riots recently. It's not unique to France, it literally just happened right here in the U.S. Americans, including the Trump administration, red state governors, conservative-led school districts, and parents need to aggressively fight back. These students have been brainwashed their entire lives to hate America, western civilization, and people of European descent. In addition, assimilation is now discouraged so Mexican-Americans identify more with Mexico than America.

The anti-ICE middle and high school lunatics are just as crazy as the Clancy supporters who accuse her husband of doing it and/or blame it on astrology. ICE is doing everything necessary to reverse the illegal invasion under Biden (no different from Ceuta back in July), protecting our country. To be against ICE is to be against America and for violent criminals. Sending your kids to U.S. public school is child abuse at this point, many people there (teachers and students) hate you and want you gone.

Political The far right isn't the only group susceptible to russian propaganda - so is the far left.

On the many socialist/communist subs and other social media you'll see a common theme about the Ukraine war: Russia was forced to take action to defend itself from NATO imperialism and expansionism.

The preachy socialist goes on and on about how Ukraine is full of NAZIs

https://www.tiktok.com/@madeline_pendleton/video/7664997125301882143

Most of the claims people like this make can be quickly debunked with a 3 second google search. Though I doubt consumers of this would even bother. They're drawn to anything "US bad" ... "West bad"

It's not just russian propaganda, either. You'll see post on the far left subs stating how great North Korean is (not joking) and how communist China is not authoritarian at all. You will get banned if you make any statements that put this in doubt.

Media / Internet Social media has convinced average people that an average life is a failure

It feels like everyone’s expected to be rich by 25, have an insane physique, travel in an out every week, drive fancy cars and build a successful business at the same time.

And if you’re not doing so then you’re behind in life.

There's nothing wrong with ambition, but I think social media has completely distorted what a normal, successful life looks like.

Someone can have a stable job, good relationships, decent health, and a comfortable lifestyle and still feel like they're failing because some 22-year-old on Instagram is driving a Lamborghini.

I think we've reached a point where people aren't comparing themselves to their peers anymore. They're comparing themselves to the most successful 0.1% of people on the internet.
At what point does ambition stop being healthy and start becoming manufactured dissatisfaction?

Political That Big Beautiful Bill was just the appetizer, and frankly, I'm thrilled.

That Big Beautiful Bill was just the appetizer, and frankly, I'm thrilled. Everyone is now seeing the main course being served, and it looks exactly like what was on the menu when people voted. I have zero sympathy. In fact, I'm glad it's happening.

For all the folks in diners and on social media who screamed about wanting to "run the country like a business" and "get tough," congratulations. You're getting your wish. Let's start with your healthcare. Remember how the Affordable Care Act was the ultimate evil? Well, the new plan is gutting it. We're talking about an estimated 11 million people losing their insurance.

The "enhanced subsidies" that made plans affordable for millions? Gone. A 60-year-old couple making a modest income is about to see their premiums skyrocket by over 200%. Low-income folks on Medicaid are going to get hit with new fees for the privilege of seeing a doctor. To every single person who voted for this while relying on a subsidized plan or Medicaid, I genuinely hope you enjoy the freedom of those massive bills. You voted for it.

How about that 401(k) and your Social Security? I'm watching with glee as the same administration you voted for proposes "reforms" and budget measures that could trigger automatic cuts to Medicare. They sold you on a "Social Security tax cut" that turns out to be a temporary deduction that doesn't even help the poorest seniors. It's a magic trick, and you were the mark. They're gambling with your retirement to fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, and you cheered them on. I hope you have to work until you're 80. You chose this.

And the economy? Oh, this is the best part. Those tariffs you thought were "sticking it to other countries"? They're a tax on you. The cost of everything is going up. That new car, those clothes, the food on your table, it's all getting more expensive. We're talking an extra couple of thousand dollars a year out of your pocket, on average. Meanwhile, the administration is busy rolling back "job-killing regulations" you know, the rules that ensure your workplace is reasonably safe and the air isn't toxic.

So, when your paycheck doesn't go as far, when your kid's after-school program gets defunded, when you have to choose between fixing your car and paying for a prescription, I want you to remember: this is what you voted for. This isn't a bug; it's the feature. You weren't tricked. You were told this would happen, and you eagerly pulled the lever.

My unpopular opinion" is that I don't want this to be a "learning experience." I don't want you to wake up and be saved by the people you despise. I want you to get exactly what you demanded: a country run by people who see you as nothing more than a vote to be won and a cost to be cut. Enjoy the mess. You made the bed, and I'm genuinely excited to watch you lie in it. No take-backs.

Leftists will never give someone [Elon] credit unless they're a Leftist

• Upvotes

I'm not a big fan of Elon, I think he's a but unhinged, a conspiracy nut sometimes & kinda ignorant on certain topics but I will never rob him or the credit & praise he deserves for what he's done with Tesla, X, Grok, neuralink & Space X.

He was a darling of liberals from 2010 - 2018ish, seen as a revolutionary CEO who made ED'S mainstream, lowered emissions & was genuinely a cool nerdy visionary. He's had failures you can critique him for in his businesses, mainly overpromising & delivering late but to dismiss his accomplishments as CEO is extremely goofy NPC behavior.

The Roadster showcase was cool & its hilarious seeing leftists discredit him everywhere they can

"Hes just the CEO, he didnt invent that"

"That tech is from SpaceX"

"People don't have healthcare & we're celebrating this"

All these goofy statements meant to undermine a cool, though admittedly, limited in practical use, product.

If it was 2016, people would be going crazy over a car that did what the demonstration showed but instead, its being minimized by the hivemind.

Sex / Gender / Dating Women are misunderstanding why men are annoyed at women dressing provocatively at the gym.

I’ve seen all kinds of takes as to why there seems to be an uptick in men commenting on what women are wearing to the gym, and why jokes like the one Shane Gillis made on SNL are on the rise. I’ve seen people be confused and ask why men don’t like seeing women dress provocatively, that you’d think they’d like it. Ive seen people say women used to dress scantily at the gym and nobody cared. I’ve seen people suggest that the issue men have is that they want to control women, or that they are angry and jealous that they can’t have them, there are all kinds of theories.

IMO, these all miss the point. The issue is that men are sick of being made to feel like lecherous creeps. They’re sick of normal, healthy male sexuality being twisted into something dirty and wrong. So when we are showered with videos “catching” men glancing at a woman for half a second at the gym, or see endless posts about how disgusting it is to hit on a woman in the gym, combined with women dressing more and more provocatively, it adds up. Now when I see a woman in the gym wearing underwear, I need to be vigilant that I don’t look in her direction. I don’t want to have to be worried about that, I want to just work out.

This attitude of “I’m going to dress and act as sexually provocative as I can, but fuck men if they look” is pervasive throughout culture, and men are sick of it. Every pop star, celebrity, they all act like this.

If we just went back to “I can dress as provocatively as I like, but I’m not going to act shocked when guys check me out, and I’m not going to deny that this is in fact a provocative outfit”, then everybody could go back to normal. But we can’t just keep sending messages to men that their normal sexual urges are gross and need to be hidden at all times unless specifically, verbally asked for, and then having women parade around them in their underwear. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Political History will look less kindly on Obama than people think of him now

• Upvotes

Despite Romney warning us that Russia was the most dangerous country in the world, 0bama ignored that. Consequently, the past 12-14 years Russian propaganda has been wildly successful at leveraging American social media to influence politics. And I think it goes beyond politics, I think Russia is responsible for stoking the culture wars in the US too.

When Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, 0bama didn't really do shit other than some sanctions.

Other 0bama misses: He let McTurtle completely humiliate him by ignoring Obama's SCOTUS candidate.

ACA - yeah, it's better than what we had, but it is still a gift to insurance companies and complete dogshit compared to what the rest of the world gets. And the insidious thing about ACA is it will make it almost impossible to get actual socialized medicine in this country.

Anyone remember the Solyndra scandal and its collapse? Operation Fast and Furious? Him using the IRS as a weapon against political opponents? Snowden/NSA leaks? Letting the US ambassador to Libya get killed? VA waitlist scandal? Not firing Hillary for mishandling classified emails?

Oh yeah: 0bama's DOJ secretly seized phone records of reporters & editors at The Associated Press.

Of course people are going to what-about. What about Bush. Yeah he sucked. What about Trump. Yeah he sucks. Regardless, in absolute terms 0bama wasn't as great as people think he was.

But peoples mentalities are such that they think since eating horse shit is worse than eating dogshit, eating dogshit is great. I'm looking at you, 0bama worshipers.

Political anti discrimination laws in the West are pretty much meaningless if they won't criminalize male only conscription

On the surface; local constitutions , supernational legalisations and even international laws tend to hold a strong stance against any form of Legal discrimination based on sex or gender But that is entirely meaningless as long as they allow male only conscription one way or another since that single form of legal discrimination Affect every single aspect of Life —its impact isn't limited to the area it seems to cover, but reaches into every other legal status, whether directly or indirectly.

Normally if a country bans one sex from leaving, HRW and the UN lose their minds (like how they cry over Iran or Yemen) But because of male only conscription , countries like Ukraine can ban only Men from traveling fully legally with zero backlash While millions of women travel freely with zero friction.

Theoretically, states claim to grant equal economic opportunities and can't enforce more taxes based on gender But because of male only conscription (or alternative mandatory civil service which is basically a slave Labor created as a punishment that provide no defense value at all) they Can take young Men for 1 or two years out of education and workforce without any compensation causing a career delay that results in a massive economic disadvantage relative to females of the same age who would be already graduating earlier, having work experiences and saved Cash...in places like Switzerland they even enforce a literal additional annual tax for Men who refuse to serve OR even those deemed unfit for service (like disabled or unhealthy Men) and the supernational legalisations won't recognize it as a human right violation (see Court ruling on Brun v. Switzerland)....

laws claim to Grant equal protection to citizens but because of the Conscription system and mobility restrictions; Men consist of the vast majority of casualties of all military conflicts (might be up to 95% of total victims or more as Frontline casualties) and even among non combatant casualties ( in Gaza Men 18–45 die at 2.8–3.4× the rate of women the same age .... Ukraine's confirmed civilian casualties are 7,777 men vs 4,762 women among adults with known sex)

Asylum seekers and Refugee rules are supposed to ignore sex for the same nationality yet The EU’s latest temporary protection extension for Ukrainians now exclude adult Men unless they can bring military permissions while Ukrainian women can apply freely without limitations.

So basically, that Single form of legal discrimination renders the entire principle of equality obsolete and pointless, the discriminatory impacts are more devastating than racist laws, sharia's discrimination or sometimes literal Caste systems as it literally touches on every aspect of Life.

It's only illegal when it disadvantages women and you're supposed to believe that it is **Equality** and modernity and we aren't like the third world.

If you get mad at a comedian making a pretty tame offensive joke, you need to put the phone down and touch grass fr.

This joke would be laughed at in the uk and no one would get mad cause its a comedian making a joke and we understand that, but people are way to soft in the america.

Genuinely who cares what some middle aged comedian says? Is there something wrong with dressing like a whore? Why dont yall just own it instead of just getting mad about everything. Genuinely go outside, get off the phone, seeing people crying about one of the most tame offensive jokes ive heard in a while.

There seriously are bigger problems to be worrying about.

Down to this, Lindsay clancy and the cornell 7, feminists are really picking the wrong issues. Its not helping their cases like at all.

Possibly Popular Certain forms of eugenics are an irrefutable net good for humanity.

I get it, it’s a yucky word with a lot of historical baggage and warnings that we would be wise to learn from, and take into consideration. But when you strip away the knee-jerk reactions, it’s undeniable that we can markedly improve humanity over time, at zero ethical cost, if implemented properly via morally sound and unobtrusive ’eugenic’ means. It’s a term with bad PR, but very real and beneficial possibilities for humanity.

I’ll give an example, but there are many more I’m sure people will mention in the comments:

A Danish fertility company blew up in the news recently due to setting a minimum IQ requirement of 85 for sperm donors. The reason for this, for all the ‘trust the science’ folks, is that IQ is quite heritable and so screening out potentially ‘dumb’ genetics makes perfect sense. Nobody going through these expensive and desperate fertility treatments wants a child with shortcomings, if indeed it is possible to predict and avoid them (it isn’t always, obviously).

This, and other stories like it, are of course deemed controversial by the usual bedwetters, but to me (and I’d argue any objective and logical person) it makes absolute sense and in fact doesn’t go far enough. The Danish company should set the donation IQ threshold to 100 or more, and increase the odds of creating smarter children. There is zero downside. We SHOULD practice more genetic selection to make us healthier and smarter, as long as it’s backed by real science, and always optional and ethical. Just because it turned out bad in Gattaca (great movie btw) doesn’t mean it has to in real life.

TL;DR: Eugenics is not inherently immoral but in fact a useful tool, no different to any other medical practice or preventative treatment. If we can make humans that are yet to be born smarter, more resilient to diseases, and reduce suffering, why wouldn’t we?

Political George floyd's death was an accident that shouldn't have happened, but in the end it's a good thing he died

• Upvotes

I saw recently a comment on youtube claming it was a pregnant woman he threatened on gunpoint, upon google search that doesn't seem to be true and at best is skewing a fact a bit considering the state of culture war but that just reminded me of an opinion I always held, unaware, but never spelled out.

He should have been given a due legal process, prosecuted, and imprisoned if needed not dead on street.

So it's an accident of justice not being able to do what it's meant to do, a faillure of it perhaps as many say.

But the truth is he was a low life, up-to-no-good, menacing individual that had no business still roaming freely in the first place considering his record. Robbery with a weapon is plain inexcusable.

I am glad one such person is permanently gone for good, despite all the aftermath of the incident and apparent reverence of him. What I mean is buncha druggies and thugs acting violently, trashing, destroying properties, looting have always happend and will continue in low-trust societies like US so it's a tradeoff I can take for one less savage on earth. It's all people gonna remember him for in this side of the world anyway: excessive vandalism in the calling for justice

Sex / Gender / Dating Setting Boundaries in a relationship is not "controlling" and works both ways.

I'm not sure why so many women on here seem to think that a man telling their partner they're uncomfortable with them spending time alone with other men is controlling. Just as women are free to see other men, men are free to break it off.

This is not behavior exclusive to all women, simply a loud bunch who seem to think men are all evil, specifically on reddit.

Possibly Popular If you’re a short guy, the last thing you wanna be is too skinny.

• Upvotes

I feel like this is gonna be a can of worms with some people, but I feel like short and skinny you’re at a disadvantage. Of course there are exceptions to the rule if you’re Bruce Lee or an mma fighter and you gotta cut weight . But for average Joe short guys, you wanna have some muscle mass. Hell it’s better to have SOME chub (please note I said some, not a lot) than be skin and bones. I feel like tall guys can get away more with being skinny. Skinny short guys just look like adult children lol I know because I used to be 125 lbs and 5’7 before I started going to the gym. Nowadays I’m 170 lbs..some of it fat, some of it muscle mass. Not only does it help you look more intimidating but it helps you be able to handle yourself in a fight. Not saying muscle means you can fight, but short stockier guys are more difficult to take down. My old wrestling coach used to tell me that all the time and it’s the truth.

The Micro-mobility Movement has gone way too far

The micro-mobility movement is supposedly all about giving people alternatives to cars and improving safety but in reality it’s a group of largely out of touch people who because a bike works for them or they can walk in their 15 minute cities, everybody else should too.

As a NYC resident it is frustrating to see how far these people get in terms of pushing their car free agenda, which is what they want. Some of them are blatantly obvious about it and others masquerade it as a push to “improve pedestrian safety.” Politicians unfortunately buy this nonsense because it sounds great. Who wouldn’t want to improve pedestrian safety? Except most of the time it has nothing to do with it.

There will always be a large part of the population that has to drive. Not everyone can live close to where they have to work, not everyone has the ability to move closer to their job, not everyone has a job easily accessible by public transportation, some people have other shit to do and places to be that riding a bicycle or taking the bus isn’t an option. I want to attend an event in Allentown, PA. What the hell is a bike supposed to do for me? NYC public transit connects to Allentown, PA? What if I want to load some stuff up in the back of my truck? Maybe I want to go camping? Where am I supposed to put all my belongings?

They view cars literally as a death machine. Anything outside of a small compact Honda Civic or Toyota Prius is considered a weapon to these clowns. Pick up trucks and SUVs shouldn’t be allowed or require a special license according to them. Just take a look at the micromobility movement for NYC. They are totally detached from reality. People buy SUVs and pick up trucks because guess what last time I checked I can plywood or Sheetrock in a sedan. I also don’t think your stupid bicycle is going to carry anything that is 4 feet by 8 feet. And if it did it’s gonna carry several hundred pounds of material? What if I want to go to Best Buy and buy a 50 inch TV? I have to pay extra for delivery? I’m buying furniture and want to get a new couch for my living room. Once again how am I fitting this on a bike? I’m going to bring it on a bus or the subway? I’m going to have to pay more for delivery? Owning a car gives you the freedom to do these things without having to rely on someone else and pay more money. Plus I’m sorry thought this was America? If I want to own a big gas guzzling SUV or truck I thought that was my right?

I work a job that involves heavy manual labor. Am I really expected to ride a bike 12 miles each way to and from my job every day? I get off after a long shift of digging trenches and now I gotta bike 12 miles to get home? Oh and bonus points for doing it in the extreme heat or cold and throw in some snow or rain while we’re at it.

They claim cars create congestion in cities. They fail to see how adding ridiculous amounts of bus and bike lanes and these ridiculous obstructions in the roadway contribute to more congestion. These so-called “pedestrian refuge islands” they add in the middle of streets so if a pedestrian crosses the street and they lose the signal they have a place to stand in the middle of the street. How about don’t cross a 40 foot wide street with 3 seconds left on the clock. Then a truck comes to make a turn and they can’t easily the make the turn because the island has big bollards so they can’t run over the curb. Now the truck can’t make the turn the first time so they have to back up and try again. Creating an even more dangerous situation and clogging up traffic. Combine that with the new “road diets” of protected bike lanes with concrete barriers or center running bus lanes it’s no surprise there’s more traffic. It’s a full on obstacle course to drive with roads that have less capacity. Bus lanes that buses don’t even use, bike lanes with maybe 1 bike rider per hour. How does the micromobility movement say to handle it? Just get rid of cars. Get a bike or take public transportation. As if every single person got out of their car and decided to take public transportation the system can handle it with all the homeless people on transit and crime. Also what if you’re a first responder? You have to report to work for an emergency and you’re called in on short notice. They’re supposed to rely on public transportation? What about city employees who handle snow removal? You know when public transportation shuts down or is greatly reduced. They’re supposed to show up on time with a bike or take the bus? Seriously?

There are also other methods of transportation they fail to acknowledge that clog up city streets and create congestion. Biggest one by far being ride share programs like Uber and Lyft. Absolute total chaos. Zero regard for traffic laws, constant double parking, driving slow for no reason, clogging up highways with left lane camping. I promise you, if you got rid of ride share programs in NYC, congestion would be greatly reduced without these clowns who can’t drive even though driving is quite literally their job.

Their other so called solution for large trucks is to have them drive and make deliveries at night. Sounds great right? Who’s paying for the extra staff that now how to be at the store overnight to receive deliveries? A business is just supposed to eat that cost? An entire industry now has to tell its employees with families that sorry you’re now working the night shift so some hipster can ride their bike in the city? You’re gonna be more likely to have health problems, have relationship problems and not see your kids as much because cyclists have a problem with you doing your job during the day.

They also love starting problems with some people who you would say to yourself, “who could possibly have a problem with them?” Their next target? The fire department. Yes the fire department. The people who protect life and property? Yeah those guys. Why you might ask? Because the fire department says no to some of their ridiculous street designs as a matter of public safety. The fire department says “no you can’t put these jersey barriers on tight narrow streets for your protected bike lane because our ladder trucks have outriggers that extend out so we can raise a bucket to rescue people stuck in a fire.” How does the micromobility movement respond you might ask? “Not our problem. Order different trucks.” So once again you want to ride a bike and now the NYC Fire Department has to probably spend billions of dollars ordering new trucks and equipment to accommodate you? They also claim streets shouldn’t be designed around the use of one type of vehicle (fire trucks) and should be used for pedestrians and other alternative forms of transportation. You heard it folks. Who cares about putting out fires and saving lives? Someone needs all these stupid safety measures blocking streets because they’re too stupid to learn how to cross a street safely. And that’s where this all stems from allegedly. Pedestrian and cyclist safety.

Most of the measures they want implemented are so pedestrians can just be mindless drones and do whatever they want. I have never crossed a street and not looked both ways. I’m aware of my surroundings. I’m also not going to a cross a street with a timer that has 2 seconds left and then be confused why cars are driving towards me when the light changes. It’s not my problem you have headphones in and want to be buried in your phone. You do that at your own risk. Just because someone wants to be a moron doesn’t mean you completely change society to accommodate them. They push for all these safety measures and want more enforcement on cars and trucks while ignoring the rules themselves.

Central Park is closed to cars except at a few transverses that go through the park and cut off from actual park goers. I go there a lot for work and it’s literally the Wild West with cyclists. They don’t follow speed limits, cut off other cyclists, cut off and ride dangerously close to other pedestrians, ignore stop signs and red lights, don’t allow pedestrians to cross and just generally ride in a lawless state. Central Park is an excellent example of what it would look like if the micromobility movement got their way. It’s worse than cars by far. Not even close. Not too long ago someone was killed in a bike collision in there. Cyclists do not care about safety. Not even close. They love seeing cars and trucks get ticketed but god forbid a cop writes a ticket to them. Oh boy the tears really start flowing. Rules for thee but not for me.

In summary, the micromobility is totally detached from reality. They are just blatantly anti-car and individual freedom and want to live in a totally fictional utopia. Everybody is afraid to say no to them because they hide behind phrases like “pedestrian safety” and “transportation alternatives” that make it hard to criticize them because they know it’ll make you look bad to say “I don’t care about pedestrian safety” even though that’s not truly what they’re about. Most of these pedestrian safety issues can be solved with just a little common sense and being more aware of your surroundings.

Wanna be clear its not all women or men Have y'all seen those alpha / vampire stories? some of them get adapted and are just as bad as porn. So why do we always say that men write terrible abusive stories or unrealistic so called stories (if we can even call it that) those alpha vampire whatever stories are the same as porn.

So why do people always say that when men write about women its unrealistic?

grr Martin is a horrible writer but no worse than some lady writing about the fae and his big.. Part. I have never read the throne of silver or whatever those titles are.. But. Both are same. Martin just got famous writing about some dragon mother touching herself.

Political Both sides of the political spectrum are equally hypocritical

To preface this: I don't believe in the whole "left vs right" debate. I think oversimplifying complex and highly nuanced political stances into category A vs B has driven apart the world so much, especially now in the age of social media and unmonitored headlines. Regardless, for the sake of argument I will be making the same generalisation based on the current stereotypes.

People who are in the center-left and the center-right are defined by their key fundamental beliefs which, coupled with the environment they are around, creates bias and causes them to become one-sided over time. This causes biased assumptions of even things that may appear like "common sense" to one side, but utter bullshit to the other (ex. "Abortion is moral/immoral").

These biases completely ruin the fundamental goal of discourse. Any polite discussion with someone who holds completely opposite beliefs almost always ends in a battle of ego rather than actually trying to add something beneficial. Ego doesn't support your argument. It only makes you feel better. People on the left stay in their bubble with other leftists, and people on the right stay in their bubble with other rightists.

Often times, these disagreements also happen because context is easily lost and assumptions are quickly made. It's easy to misinterpet a comment which makes you deviate and get in the mindset of "I HAVE TO DISPROVE THIS PERSON" rather than going back and actually addressing the initial argument in the first place. You'd think that this would be less common on the internet because you actually have plenty of time to stop and think rather than talk continously, but this is usually not the case because words spoken online hold no consequence. There is no sense of obligation to consider what the other person had in mind when you can click "post" in 2 seconds and come back to the comment the next day. Or don't.

Point is, I am not here to say who is right or wrong, left or right. I am just here to point out that both 'sides' are equally hypocrytical when it comes to debate because each person already assumes they possess the moral high ground, even if they think they are being reasonable. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I believe is ruining our world. None of us would like to believe we are truly hypocrites, but at the end of the day, we all are in some shape or form.

Or maybe I am just chronically online.

Possibly Popular Being soft on crime is a great way to terrorize decent people

The fact is the vast majority of people who commit wanton acts of aggression like rape or murder have something wrong with them. No amount of poverty or financial strife could turn a regular person into a rapist or a homicidal maniac. Roughly 1% of the population is responsible for over 60% of violent crime, and there is no reason to have mercy toward those people.

The counter argument for the death penalty is about how it's not a deterrent, but I think if you kill the lowest and most violent people in our society and cut violent crime by 60%, it would be a huge win.

I think High Fashion shouldn’t include fat models

I want to make a clear distinction upfront: fashion and representation should absolutely be inclusive when it comes to unalterable human traits like skin color, ethnicity, age, and physical features that fall outside traditional Western beauty standards.
However, when it comes to high fashion and ESPECIALLY haute couture and runway presentation, including plus-size models defeats the purpose of this art : high fashion has never been meant to be about representing the average consumer (as ready-to-wear handles that market) but rather to be selling a fantasy and idealized dream that is intentionally inaccessible to most of us.
Extreme thinness was originally marketed precisely because it was rare, difficult to maintain, and symbolized a level of extreme discipline (or detachment) from normal routines (and because you need crack to maintain it at some point).
Today, becoming overweight is statistically common and easy to achieve given modern diets and lifestyles, so because of that, featuring larger body types on the runway completely strips away the aspirational, exclusive element of luxury.
Furthermore, high fashion functions as a visual art form where the human body acts as a structural canvas. The traditional design language relies on specific proportions, sharp angles, and linear drape to showcase the garment's tailoring and architecture. Trying to force high fashion to double as a body-positivity platform misses the point of what haute couture is, which is an impossible and exclusive art that relies on rare, specific aesthetics ≠ everyday looks. Fashion is NOT moral : it’s immoral and that’s why trying to include it into body positivity movements is just destroying it

Possibly Popular Reddit Is A Psyop Designed To Turn Everyone Into A Malignant Narcissist

"Malignant narcissism is a severe, destructive clinical construct that combines the grandiosity of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) with antisocial behavior, paranoid tendencies, and ego-syntonic sadism (deriving satisfaction or triumph from hurting others)"

This is literally everyone on reddit.

Political The reason why the left is so aggressive to immigrants from Venezuela, Cuba is because they must silence their victims to perdure.

Those who don’t know their history are forced to repeat it. It’s clear we’ve already seen what their envy, resentment and outlandish policies and principles create.
Because “the sanctions”
The “blockade”
Nah fam you’re high on shaved bananas or something. And one more thing… the western left has NEVER seen hardship in their lives. They don’t know what oppression is, are spoiled, and think that because they don’t get called what they want, or the world doesn’t owe them their existence without a cent of input “we are so oppressed and persecuted.” Go to Cabudare or Rio Chico where there isn’t water or electricity and healthcare to see the socialist paradise.
