Political Reminder that name calling is not permitted

That includes calling people "bootlicker" or "cuck" or stating/implying that another user is performing adult acts on a given politician (or anyone else). I bring those up specifically because, in recent time, these have been the most common types of personal attacks.

As strongly as you may feel about current events, calling people derogatory names is a contravention of Rule 4 and will be removed. Attack the opinion, not the user.

Sorry for your understanding and thank you for the inconvenience.

Political Reminder that racism is not permitted

There has been a recent uptick in overtly racist content, i.e., use of racial slurs in a derogatory context, or stating/implying that some races are inherently/genetically inferior to others, etc.

Reminder that such nonsense is NOT PERMITTED, no matter what race you are or what race you are targeting. If you see any racist posts or comments, PLEASE REPORT THEM.

Even though we clearly enumerated this in our rules, some of you apparently did not get the memo. So for enhanced clarity and to assist in comprehension, I asked ChatGPT to create a visual aid for you all.

Political We need to teach about Islamic conquests, colonization and educational funding in schools

First off I do condoning Islamophobia in any form. However we are not taught about the Muslim world in school or that they shared many of the evils pointed at the west.

From the Arab Slave trade trafficking 10s of millions of Africans as well as European slaves, to Thomas Jefferson in Tripoli asking the North African countries to stop and being told the the laws of Quran allowed these countries to capture and enslave anyone who didn’t submit to Islam. We’re not taught about the Armenian or Yazidi Genocide. We’re not taught about the Arabian colonial conquest of the Levant or their brutal mass killings in India.

We’re not taught about the 850,000 Jews expelled and genocided in the Middle East in the 1950’s with almost every Muslim country showing a 99.9% decrease is Jews in the last 100 years. We’re not taught that Islam is the fastest growing religion and will soon have a higher population than Christianity and already has more active members. We’re not taught about in 14 countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar that converting out of Islam is punishable by death.

I was taught in school that slavery was created by white people in Europe and the Americas. I was taught that colonization was done by white countries. Islamic culture isn’t taught at all and I was under the impression Muslims were minorities and I should have guilt for their unfair treatment. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation now has the same PPP GDP as the European Union and Qatar is the largest donor to US Universities shaping our curriculums. I think it’s time that we educate our kids that there are countries that want to see the west fail, they are spending money on anti west education, and that they are guilty of many of the evils that they teach are solely cause from white Americans and Europeans.

Sex / Gender / Dating The feminist claim that “we are the granddaughters of the witches they failed to burn” is a piece of intellectually dishonest historical revisionism.

• Upvotes

The phrase distorts history to perpetuate the sexist narrative that men have historically oppressed women as a class. It also appropriates witches as feminist symbols, which is arguably rather offensive to witches themselves.

Now, if they were Amazons instead of witches, that would be a different story.

BUT BACK TO THE POINT.

-There is also the fact that many women accused of witchcraft were widows, single women, or older women; it had nothing to do with fearing feminine power.

-Feminists overlook the fact that the majority of the accusers were other women. The phrase "we are the granddaughters of those who burned the witches" would make more sense.

-The narrative also ignores that many men were killed due to witchcraft accusations—in many regions, they even outnumbered women. In Iceland, for example, men accounted for approximately 92% of those accused.

-Furthermore, feminists often claim that "since men could not practice witchcraft" (a notion refuted by the fact that men were also killed for it), "they were envious of feminine wisdom and power"—a claim that borders on hypocrisy.

In short, the phrase is merely a historical distortion that serves only to promote the narrative that "men have historically oppressed women as a class".

World Affairs (Except Middle East) Women like big muscles on men

I see a lot of women claiming that ripped physiques are for the "male gaze"... Ok, then why are chippendales a thing? Why is almost every male protagonist in a romantic novel tall and buff? Or do this experiment instead: look at the world of fashion models. The women models are thin and tall, the strippers or onlyfans creators (groups catering to the male gaze) however often diverge heavily from modelesque, runway proportions and come in different shapes or sizes: from slim, to curvy and thicc, fat ass, tattoos, alternative style... the male stripper or archetype catering to the female gaze? He stays the same: tall and muscly. And before someone says "those aren't big muscles" this was considered a toned muscly build just 50 years ago and for women today he will merely be "lean" or "skinny".

Political DACA people, it’s not the US government’s responsibility you’re in this situation. Blame your parents.

Some are quick to romanticize the fact that mommy and daddy came over illegally. Sorry child but they knowingly and deliberately broke the law [1. Improper Entry (8 U.S.C. § 1325)] when they crossed the border. So you inadvertently broke it too. But that’s until you turn 18 and become an adult. Right there and then you can do the right thing and return to your home country. If you don’t return to your home country, you are also deliberately breaking the law by remaining in the USA.

You’re lucky Obama came into office and gave you guys DACA. Some in bad faith abused Advance Parole and AOS THROUGH MARRIAGE to be able to stay in and fix your green card and eventually citizenship. Those were the ones that were able to play the system when they could.

For those of you still in the DACA cycle of renewing and what not, this is ultimately mom and dad’s fault. But remember you are an adult now and can do the right thing by deporting yourself. USA has no obligation to make your and the life of foreigners any easier.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) The riots in France are a perfect example of why guns are needed

I’m a huge supporter of protesting but when it turns to rioting that’s when my support goes away. I saw a video of a shop owner returning to their store and it was completely decimated. People think twice about looting and burning a store if someone is sitting there with a gun pointed at your chest. There’s a reason rooftop Koreans are so popular. People don’t like having their entire lives ruined.

Political Leftists raging about inflation and high cost of living today are the same people who cheered for COVID lockdowns and unlimited money printing

The high cost of everything is directly tied to the massive COVID-era money printing carried out by governments around the world. I’d bet that when those same governments locked everyone down and forced people into their homes, the leftists now protesting would have been the ones shaming you and wishing you harm simply for refusing to submit to their obvious power grab.

Political If it’s inappropriate to ask Abdul El-Sayed to disavow ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Democratic Jewish candidates should not be asked to disavow Zionism

Not sure how many saw the clip today where Michigan senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed was asked in a campaign event to disavow his alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. He pushed back on the allegations implying that a non Muslim candidates wouldn’t be asked this question and rightly so. And he cited JFK’s response on the Catholic question.

So if it’s inappropriate to ask a Muslim candidate to disavow ties to a religious/political radical organization like the MB, isn’t it inappropriate to ask Jewish candidates to disavow Zionism?

Or Hindu/Indian-origin candidates (like Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi) about their beliefs with respect to the nationalist government in India?

The implication in the latter two instances is the same: the notion propagated by the left that these communities ought to be subject to additional litmus tests in order to be proven kosher as per Leftist standards. How’s this any different from right wing smears against AES on his alleged “ties” and the “need” for him to disavow the Brotherhood?

Media / Internet Reading smut is not the same as reading a book

Go rage about it Britney, you aren't a reader just because you like to get wet in public reading about a rich vampire beast demon rape the woman protagonist while she pretends to not be into it. Just like how me firing up porn hub and watching the step mom get stuck in the washing machine doesn't make me a cinema connoisseur.

The sheer audacity to tell other people "well maybe try reading a book some time" while all you read is smut is wild. It is beyond unhinged to think that reading something with lines like "He deeply grunted in his big manly man voice" is even remotely comparable to reading normal books.

So no, reading your woman porn and proudly sharing with the world how much you love it doesn't make you a reader. What it makes you, is a gooner.

Edit: forgot this was reddit so let's clarify. For all of you who will inevitably say "well reading is reading actually har har har". You know exactly what I mean here. You dont need to pretend like it's your first day on earth.

I Like / Dislike You’re in a cult if you can’t admit Elon car flew or that it was semi cool.

Before people get upset, you have a CULT LIKE MENTALLY. You’re not in an actual cult but to say it wasn’t cool to see a car drive upside down and flip itself right side up is absurd. To say it didn’t fly when it launched itself into the air over multiple vehicles is pure cope.

The wright brothers are considered the first people to ever fly and they managed 12 seconds and 120 ft on their first flight. Yet no one in the history of man would say they didn’t actually fly, you’ll only say the roadster didn’t fly because you’re in a cult.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) The French are not a serious people.

It’s October, it’s fall, and it’s time for the semiannual orgy of arson and looting known as “protest culture” in France. Look, personally I’m not invested in the protests over there. I don’t get misty-eyed over the sight of rioting the way many on the American Left do and I don’t think they’re secret muslim terrorists trying to undermine the French govt either.

France is experiencing a strain familiar to much of Europe and the US — a large, aging population of seniors and a pension system that can no longer afford them — only its magnified by the unique entitlement of the French people. The government of France has poured an obscene amount of money into welfare and the people have gotten entitled to it.

They want more.

More spending for pensioners, more spending for schools, more spending for citizens more spending for govt services. The list goes on and on. As a result they have exorbitant debt with high interest rates that need servicing. This servicing would inevitably require sharp spending cuts across the board: including welfare.

To which the French people respond: “REEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!”

There’s no easy solution for France. Because nobody on the Center, Left or Right is willing to break them of their delusions. They want a pain free solution that involves no cost to their standards of living. There is none. The Left think they can either tax or, failing that, riot their way out of the problem. The Right think attacking immigrants and cutting aid to Ukraine will help and the Center is torn between the two.

The problem isn’t the politicians — though they don’t help — the problem is the people. The French are in a failing socialist state that they’re convinced is in late stage capitalism. I don’t know what solution there is besides denial till the bitter end and economic crisis across the eurozone.

Sex / Gender / Dating Armpit hair is gross on everybody

Discovered a post where the OP was complaining about how every guy she dates gets grosses out by her armpit hair and everyone in the comments was going like "yass queen, keep them pits hairy!!!"

I was just cringing the whole time because I truly believe arm pit hair is just disgusting on everyone.

Arm hair? Who cares for the most part. Leg hair? Fine, sometimes a bit unsightly, but it's hidden for the most part anyway. Pubic hair? If it's taken care of, it's actually healthier to leave it a bit bushy. Chest/Back hair? Honestly, that takes a lot of work to get rid of and most people don't have super visible body hair since it's basically peach fuzz.

Armpit hair however? It's gross. It's like you attached loose pubes to your pits that reek of sweat while still looking like the dryest things on earth. Looking at it makes me feel itchy and while yes they can hide it, most people that have large amounts of armpit hair are also the same people that tend to love showing it off. Especially when it comes to ladies who have it.

Media / Internet Anti-Ai people are more annoying than pro-Ai people

Many of the anti-Ai crowd have such an extreme irrational hatred for it that they'll look for Ai where there ain't none, accuse certain media of being made by Ai, flip out when they find out something has any little trace of it.

Like, the hatred would make sense when you were using Ai to write your books, if a restaurant is showing Ai pictures of food, or a student uses it to do their college work, or make art that you're immediately trying to sell to people, but most people will use it for something harmless like an Instagram post or to edit grammar on an email or to bring an art idea to life because they can't afford a $500 commission and 3 weeks for someone to make their art for them.

Yes, do SOME people take Ai too far absolutely (it's especially annoying when restaurants do the Ai food pictures bullshit) but just dont consume it. Do the employed person maneuver and just go on with your life.

Possibly Popular The setting of "posts need moderator's approval" is the worst practice and unnecessary.

I truly don't see a point to have that enabled.

The posts on this website are already lowkey in most of time even without these gates.

It is also not friendly for new users here and can easily turns this website into a big echo chamber.

There are lots better solutions for this. Such as limited amount an user can post or comment a day instead of gating them.

Media / Internet We should be applauding the Cornell 50.

There's alot of posts online now saying "oh its really 57 cuz the 50 in the chat did nothing"

Well, you're half right. Those 50 lads did nothing wrong. They saw a text claiming there was "free pussy", and they either ignored it, or turned down the offer on the table. Which by the way, free pussy doesn't automatically suggest grape. It could've been some girls wanted to hook up, it could've been that someone paid for a prostitute. Nothing in the texts suggested they were going to grape a girl.

But back to my point, these young men took the moral high ground and turned down the free pussy, and didn't partake in what transpired. They should all be commended. If grape culture was as prevalent as they say, wouldn't they all have come running at the mere idea of possible sex? Every single one of those 50 boys deserves recognition for seeing a morally bad scenario and choosing not to take part in it.

I Like / Dislike People who constantly talk about their mental health struggles are sometimes just looking for attention, not solutions

Honestly I think there's a difference between actually working through stuff and just like, making your trauma your whole personality? I'm not saying don't talk about it, fr fr we should normalize that, but some people seem way more invested in getting sympathy than actually getting better. Like they'll turn down genuine advice but post about the same problem for the millionth time looking for comments. It's giving performative sometimes and I don't think we talk about that enough without being labeled heartless lol

Possibly Popular Reddit stopped sorting comments by upvotes so that more people see bot and political manipulation content.

I dont for a second buy its about diversifying what you get exposed to.
the system that sorted by highest up vote comments first and progressed down from there was objectively better. All it does is allow for the content thats there purely to manipulate public opinion gets more hits and views.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) Why do people act like the hate on America is recent or fairly new? Europeans and Canadians have always disliked Americans.

I've been seeing posts recently with views that are respectively borderline "Do Americans know how much they are disliked right now?" or "Do Americans care about how hated their country is?" Do people forget about Obama's term, or the entire near 30 years before today when Americans were portrayed very negatively in almost every European news article? This was my comment in one of those threads:

As an American immigrant that was born in the mountain villages but immigrated to the US as a young child in 2012 and raised on the internet in 2013, I can confidentially say you canadians and europeans have always hated us. Every single one of you would have a snarky smudge attitude of "not-american" and laugh at us "Yankees". People say the internet brings out the worst of people but I'd counter that and say it only reveals the true thoughts of everyone. And let me tell you, those thoughts were never pretty. Back in 2019, I always knew something like this would happen from the conflicting sphere that were americans and not-americans (excluding the Asian and Latin American sphere, they had a lot better attitude) on the Internet. It was just a matter of time for the fuse to detonate and apparently that time is now.
Sure, the people on this thread say it was a "joking/jest" attitude that dominated the 2010s but look at the current world or simply any threads about America. The reality is those "thoughts" and "feelings" you have for us are only being represented truthfully now. Those americans are useless, stupid, impotent shit talks does create bad karma, huh.
They made Americans indifferent to anything outside of itself. I won't say the current US situation is good or I like what has happened but it is interesting to notice the changing attitudes and spheres.

There are multiple reasons why Americans are genuinely apathetic that don't involve "cause internet people were mean" (such as the US being a continent disguised as a country under a trench coat, so most Americans do not leave the US nor care about anything outside their own states), but I won't say the definition of "allies" wasn't being skewed by the popular "AMeErica Bad" sentiments or "criticisms" from our allies throughout the entire 2000s. I'm not saying that every European or Canadian was involved with the hate, but I am saying you guys should self-reflect on your cultural and literary stance on Americans before asking dumb questions.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) The basis of using the French Revolution to justify this shit is an absurdly bad take

• Upvotes

I have seen many Gen Z and Gen Alpha like me who have used the French Revolution as the backbone for why we should protest they way they protest

However many leave out the glaring details of what the French revolution resulted in after the fact , it did not bring about stability but actually a time that was so bad it was called the reign of terror where roughly 16-17,000 where executed. Resulting in civil unrest, more uprisings and finally the rise of Napoleon. Who was a dictator by the way.

I fear, what will happen not just in France but across Europe will be far worse than what we have seen. Instead of “progressive” political views getting into power through protests like these we are headed towards a “right” leaning government across Europe

(Which btw I am centrist but can lean both left and right not to either extremes though)

It’s not an opinion but a growing fact that the rise of immigration and the lack of job security and homes will push people to the furthest extremes not against the actual wealthy people in power but against each other and fellow citizens

You don’t even need to look back far to see other political revolutions and how they have ended
From across the Middle East , Asia and South America vary rarely does a good outcome come from it

Sex / Gender / Dating The whole having a girl or an abortion movement is going to end badly

  1. They won't have any grandkids to inherit their ideology, which will make it the 4b movement part
  2. Free range abortion isn't as universally supported by women as the left makes it out to be or there would have been an amendment recognizing abortion as a protected right by now. In fact, 95% of abortions are elective (you can confirm this with a quick google search). The remaining 5% are medically necessary which under the Hyde Amendment, includes rape and incest, not just when the mother's life is in danger.
  3. The 18th and 19th Amendments passed because almost all of women banded together and fought for them even though they didn't have the universal right to vote yet. What stops an amendment that outright bans abortion from passing and being ratified, apart from Hyde Amendment exceptions, if men everywhere pushed for it? Conservative women would support that and would grossly overrule liberal women.

Working out without having to listen to anything in your ears enhances the experience.

• Upvotes

I genuinely think going to the gym raw without any contraption in your ears is a better experience.

You don't have to worry about the slight discomfort it might cause (worrying that they might slip off or something).

You can be full focused on your workout, which leads to better concentration during reps, better mind muscle connection, better tracking of your numbers - wether mentally or digitally.

You don't zone out randomly if the content in your ears starts to really engage you, hence save time/spend less time at the gym.

Half the time you don't even listen to whatever podcast/music is playing in your device, and you find out that you missed out on so much of the playlist/episode and you just have to rewind it all, so what was the point of it anyway. Just save your phone's and/or earbud's battery at that point.

You don't have to experience any involuntary physical reactions to the content (such as air drumming or laughing to a funny part in a podcast) and noticing people were looking at you, making you embarrased.

You also don't have to be embarrased by that moment when someone has been trying to talk to you but you didn't even notice for a significant duration of time. Overall, necessary interactions such as asking about machine availibility (how many sets left?) become much more convenient when there's no ear devices involved.

And no loud music isn't gonna magically make you lift heaver or for more reps, that's just a self imposed psychological limitation.

Overall, you're just present in the moment, achieving your fitness goals and just living life.
Skip out on them ear wax collectors

Japan deserved the nuke during WW2.

I've been watching history videos and been playing war games for the past year or two. And I've heard people complain on social media to speak out loud the horrifying things that happened during the nuking of the two Japanese cities. The purpose of this post is just to see the discussion and opinions of this specific topic, I am attempting to stay as neutral as possiblle.

First off, killing innocent people is always 100% wrong, the innocent did not deserve this.

But obviously, Japan deserved getting bombed during the 1900s. Many people THINK they know the full story. Many people interviewed Japanese people and found that data shows that most people were only teached the horrifying results of the nuke. What about the Rape+Massacre of Nanjing? Everyone knows about the nuke but what about 20,000-80,000 of women and children raped by the Imperial Japanese military? What about the horriying experiments that the Imperial Japanese military did during ww2? I'm talking about the Unit 731 experiments. This specific one was as worse as the ones that the Nazis and the Soviet Union have done, if not worse. At least ten thousand in Unit 731 were tortured. Men, women, infants, children had organs and limbs ripped off while alive without anesthesia. Some even had the ripped off limbs placed back up their ass. Some experienced frostbite, some strapped to machines to experience the high g forces, some were placed in chambers to get gased or even experienced with so much pressure that their eyes exploded.

When asked about Unit 731, most if not all civilians don't even know or believe that this happened. To this day, Japan has not formally apologized about some of these incidents and have even downplayed it. Popular social media such as TikTok have tons of people who think that Japan has never done such stuff.

edit: There are many more extremely bad things that the Imperial Japanese had done during ww2 and around that time but I'm too lazy to tell them all. Just told the main ones that I found itneresting.

World Affairs (Except Middle East) EU and US should send all the illegal aliens to the front lines to fight for Ukraine.

Service guarantees citizenship (if they survive).

Giant win for everyone. We would be sending Ukraine what they need most. They can then counter Russian meat waves with their own. Ukraine can stop conscripting their people and the West will solve their illegal problem.

Since most of those illegal aliens are military aged men that need an outlet, they can demolish Russian tanks and drones instead of buildings and cars in the EU and US. And if they actually survive, they can become citizens but should maybe be also put into a reserve to be sent back to some other conflict with dictators that needs aid.

This will also count as aid that will cost our taxpayers.. well, nothing. In fact it would be the other way around. Open up more jobs and more taxes can go towards helping out own citizens.

Media / Internet Porn is making Society more Degenerate [Incest Normalization]

One of the hallmarks of modern liberalism is degeneracy, the freedom & ignorance to pretend norms are oppressive & the past is just conveniently bigoted, racist, sexist & cannot contribute any wisdom to the future. The freedom to pretend ones agency is locked by genetics or some other unchangeable universal truth and that only modern thinking is correct & free from the generic labels popular here on reddit.

Now more than ever, porn has become a daily addiction for many men & young people in general. Porn is poison, it tricks men (and some women) into thinking how sex should be, what the opposite sex is, dopamine overstimulation, loss of sensitivity, what is normal & an overall view of objectifying view of women (and sometimes men). We cannot want a society that doesn't objectify women while the biggest entertainment category does exactly that, you cannot be dense enough to actually believe that. This is nothing like video games = violent tendencies as this is a direct biological imperative thats being hijacked & commercialized.

I will ignore the big elephant in the room in regard to degeneracy [Bless the Censorship 🙏🏽] but one aspect ANY normal person can agree on is the normalization of Incest is MORALLY REPREHENSIBLE. The next major letter to get normalized will be "I" at this rate. Seriously- go on any porn website & a large percentage of porn will be related to incest. This is objectively disguisting, I know in a few years, being against Incest will be a bannable biogted offense but while its not, can we all please agree that this "category" should be denounced & banned? Its effects are detrimental, particularly to the young & impressionable.

Edit: UNREAL, theres an entire sub called Incest confessions 🤮

I think it might be too late, how sad. I'd never thought there would be a day where MAPS [Minor attracted people] could ever be normalized until today, slipper slopes are real. We failed future generations.
