In the Womb Just thinking
I stumbled along this page after googling a shit load of questions. I’m currently in a “identity crisis” for myself and it just got me thinking about my supposed twin.
She died in the womb and I always find it weird that I think about her. Like she wasn’t really a live. Just a faint idea of what could have been a person. But I’ve in some kind of way have hated that I’ve been told about her.
I remember mostly thinking about her in highschool and started to get this feeling like she is trapped in my body. Like some of my thoughts were hers and she practically walked down the hallway with me. Like I’m living for her.
I’ve told my brother and friends about how I feel about her and they are like “I’m so sorry man” but it feels like a sorry that you say when you don’t get anything. But my best friend is a twin oddly enough and I see his life and think if his brother died no one would even hold a candle to what I feel.
It feels very selfish to me how I say this and I apologize deeply for the people that got to experience their twins life and their loss. I don’t mean to be some kind of guy trying to get attention for something that many I think would not count as something to be sad about. But I hope there are just people out there that connect with me. Thank you

Let me say.. you’re not selfish and you’re free to explore what the loss of your twin means to you. It’s your lived experience.
My twin was also lost in the womb, which I learned as an adult. For me, I had to find a group of others because although my friends and family feel for me, there’s always a distance.
There are plenty of people who feel like you, it’s just that the wider world doesn’t understand. You’re not alone.

I totally get how you feel. I too have lost my twin in the womb, an identical twin brother to be exact.
There is nothing weird in think about your supposed twin. Twins are connect first in the woumb. So when your twin disappears in the woumb, you body and subcontius mind will feel and remember what should have been with you during your birth.
That might be why you feel like she is walking beside you and you feel some of your thoughts are hers. I too have the exact feeling all the time as well as if my twin brother is right beside me and the thoughts as well.
People who haven't experienced what you have, can't fully understand how you feel. I think thats why they saying "sorry" in that way.
And about your friend. if that happends to your friends brother as you said. I think he might not understand how you feel since it's a different grief.
For me you don't have to be sorry. It truely sucks knowing that you could have had a twin.
