Work Discussion Cop pulled me over in mail truck🤔.

I was going over the speed limit in the mail truck doing my usual Amazon Sunday and the cops decided to pull me over. Now I’m not sure what the rules are on that but I figured I would post here and see if anyone else has experienced this as I have never been pulled over in the 4 years I’ve been with the post office. He gave me a warning and told me to slow down and I said I would. But is this a common thing and what is everyone else’s opinions or insights on this?

Normally, they leave us alone, even for parking violations.

Maybe you were really, really speeding?

I would just slow it down from now on, you ARE on the clock after all.

Technically, it's illegal to pull you over, but the citation is legally allowed to be given.

If you really, really want to fight it, get a lawyer and show them the US code for obstructing and retarding the passage of mail. The LEO has no way of knowing that you aren't speeding to deliver a time-sensitive document, and the case from 1912 prohibits LEO from making a determination on whether or not you possess such a document, but must assume you do.

Drinking while operating a federal vehicle is a federal crime.
