That will just mean assholes hang out elsewhere on campus.

That’s quite an oversimplification. Of course assholes exist without Greek life. The difference is with the institution of Greek life. It reinforces tribalism and that tribalism emboldens entitled assholes to act with the feeling of impunity. Greek life is well known for hazing and humiliation. Its purpose is to get young men and women to be submissive to authority so that when they enter the world they are complicit, mindless drones to the power structures they will inevitably uphold.

Alas, fear not. Nothing will happen.

Tribalism?

I think what you mean is "an environment full of enablers." When a large percentage of men in a dorm are of a like mind to commit a certain crime, then effective and strange conspiracies to commit that crime are a given.
