Industrial sized installations - looking for information
Hey VX enthusiasts! Do you know of any large, industrial VX installations in your area? I mean like factory sized, multi-step process, not a single workshop with big machines. These are unsurprisingly rare and the little infromation I was able to find so far is also hard to get, also not surprising. Commercially it never caught on and companies that dabbled with it don't really want to be associated with it - unfortunate, but I get it. On the other hand there were some militiary oriented and more secretive developments - I get a sense that this is still true, but this info is even harder to get and not really something I want to pursue, for obvious reasons.
Anyway, couple years ago I've found a cover for, as it turned out, industrial setup (Original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/VXJunkies/comments/mefui6/found_this_old_manual_cover_any_idea_what_is_it/). The HSW designation comes from Huta Stalowa Wola, a steel mill in Poland. From what I was able to learn, Soviets started a covert VX project there and it was a weird one. In '70s the steel mill was cooperating with some British, US and German companies and I believe this was also used as a cover by Polish engineers to exchange some information with the western VX researchers - hence the English manual. When USSR started losing influence over Poland, they decided to move the VX project east. Apparently they disassembled it completely and took all the documentation with them, so there is very little concrete information available now.
I was able to figure out some parts of it - Krumm processing is obviously a result of contacts with German VX labs, B20 extractor is likely an early version of the British A-series extractors, multiphasic gap sounds like US academic research put to practical use... But many parts are still a mystery to me. I'm especially curious about the "cheese" packets. My research so far points to a byproduct, a substance that does indeed resemble a soft cheese (think gouda or something similar) but it's potential uses are not quite clear to me yet, especially that the examples I've found are said to be rather unstable and deteriorate quite quickly even if stored in Michellis Chamber.
So, long story short - do you recognize any parts of this setup, or have seen something similar? I wonder if it would be possible to figure out the whole thing and see what it was actually meant to do.
