xc series Water leaking inside the car
Hey folks! Just found out about an unbelievable issue with my car. I had electrical issues and took the car to the shop and learned that water had leaked into my car and damaged the engines. I saw onljne that this issue existed in some older models, and wanted to see if anyone else ran into the same issue with newer (post 2020) models. Anyone had/heard of this issue?

What year and model do you have? I have a 2025 V60 Cross Country and am currently dealing with this.
A few months ago I had it at the dealer and they diagnosed it as a windshield leak and re-sealed it.
But recently, as in the past two weeks we've had some heavy rain days and guess what? Im still getting a puddle in my front passenger floor.
I have another appt scheduled with the dealership next week and hopefully they can get to the bottom of it.

I have 2022 XC60. I’m so disappointed that the car would need to be resealed at 4 years old. But also shocked that bad seals would lead to the car’s brains frying.
Between this, and the car going dead silent every now and then buying a Volvo has become the biggest regret of my life.

We had the same issue with a 2020 V90. The first time was three years ago and it came back in June '26. Three years ago they put in the improved sunroof seal. I have my doubts about the job they did on the rear drains.
We had about 2" of water in the rear in June. It was not causing electrical issues but a wet carpet gave it away in time. I pulled both sunroofs (pretty easy) and bought a brush on a thin flexible wire. A ton of debris showed up on the garage floor and I sort of felt the damn give way.
I plan on running warm soapy water through a couple of times annually going forward.

Are all these problems only in US produced vehicles? I haven't heard about it in Europe.

Volvo, the only modern vehicle that can be electrically totaled by rain, unbelievable!

Ha! I do love my V60CC and haven't yet decided that I regret it. I bought the car BRAND NEW back in Feb. So yeah, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED that this new car is having this issue. This seems like a very poor design issue.
If they end up not being able to resolve this, I am probably going to sell this car.
This is utterly unacceptable for a $60k car.

Sun roof is usually the issue.
