hey! i saw somewhere that honors college invites would open october 6, but now i can’t find that on the WVU website. Has anyone gotten an honors college email inviting them to apply? I submitted my 35 ACT so i meet the test-based requirements…should i email honors college to request an application like it says to do if you don’t meet requirements, or wait?

I was accepted in wvu pre nursing and i’m curious about how many people that get accepted into the pre-nursing program actually get admitted to the upper division nursing.

Howdy, hoping to gain some insight on WVU’s online MBA program.  I have a BS in Comms / Journalism from Texas A&M, 8 years of service in the Army Reserve, and ~4yrs of experience in Program Management / SCM at a defense prime.  Will be pursuing a CAPM / PMP here sometime in the future as well but really starting to lean into researching different MBA options available.

1. What was your overall experience with WVU online?  Did you enjoy it? Was it rewarding?  Were the professors a pain? Etc.
2. On a scale of 1-10, how challenging was the coursework?  1 being a breeze that you could do at the 11^th hour, and 10 being over-the-top demanding in time / difficulty?
3. Compared to undergrad, was this harder or easier?  Which courses?
4. What were some of the easier courses you took? What made them easy?
5.   What were some of the harder courses you took? What made them hard?
6.   What level of math proficiency was required?
7.   What, if any, courses required virtual proctor services?
8.   Did you have lots of smaller assignments or were most of the grades given from major 1 or 2 time projects / essays / exams?
9. If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently?
10. How much remediation / study did the coursework require? Could you go into a class and learn as you go? Or did you have to spend hours outside of class to fully prepare?
11. What ratio of individual work & group work did you have?
12. What was your outside-of-class time commitment?

I’m looking for a program that isn’t a cheap check the box (Phoenix, DeVry, WGU, etc), but I also don’t want to spend every waking minute outside of my normal day job doing classes and coursework just to have a T5 school’s name on my diploma.  I have a 4mo old and a wife at home as well, my daily 9-5, and army duty 1weekend/mo.  To fund the MBA I’ll be using a mix of my GI bill and my employer sponsored education benefits, so I should only need to cover about $50/hr out of pocket.

Thanks for your time!

Red Bull Chariot Race is hitting High Street in downtown Morgantown on October 24th at 1:00pm. 24 teams of 96 will be racing. Free and open to the public!

Does anyone know anything about these apartments? Would this be a good choice?

I’m a first year engineering student and going into this spring semester, I just need one more GEF to get into the main engineering program. This GEF is an F7, does anyone have any recommendations for this? I’m looking for something easy and online if possible.

Random question. I know it’s way in advance but I’m trying to plan ahead for my daughter’s senior trip for next summer. Do they assign you a day for your orientation or do you get to select the week that works best for your schedule?

Hi! I will be visiting morgantown for a research and I am looking for a place to rent from December 21- January 18, 2027 please let me know! Thanks!!

On December 6, 1907, the Monongah mine disaster devastated a West Virginia coal community in what remains the worst mining disaster in American history.

That tragedy forms the historical foundation of Blood in the Coal, a historical crime novel following the rise of Jimmy DiSalvio and his organized crime empire in north-central West Virginia (Morgantown, Clarksburg, Fairmont) during Prohibition in the early 1920s.

As Jimmy and his brother Frank build their criminal empire, they discover that power comes at a price—and loyalty can demand blood in return.

are you able to just walk in to the testing center or do you absolutely need to have an appointment?

I’m taking BIO117 next semester and my options are Kevin Barry or Katrina Stewart. Both seem bad so I’m having a hard time picking…

Hey again, I was wondering if anyone is doing the Agribusiness program at the Potomac state college, and I was wondering, if it’s better than the program at the Morgantown campus or vise verse? Because I’m curious which is a better choice.

I chose Animal Science for Morgantown, but I do really like how the Agribusiness program at Potomac so definitely let me know!!

Bcor 330, Bcor 370 or bcor 380 ? easier online? taking 350 online now and pretty easy

I’ve seen all the bands tonight play before and it was always a great crowd w crazy energy!

Made this quilt for a WVU friend!

I am doing absolutely terrible in gen chem 115. I’m considering dropping the class and retaking next semester. Does a W look bad on transcripts? I’m assuming it looks better than getting a D and tanking my gpa. I’ve been going to tutoring, don’t skip class, and I do practice work. I just struggle so much when it comes to the exams.

Hi everyone!! Does the $0.50 cash option for the PRT indeed work? I have a friend visiting and wanna make sure she can get around while I’m in class.

Hi all, I ended up making an account because I wanted to ask questions and stay in the loop with WVU events and such. I'm looking to transfer as a Business major specializing in Tourism and Hospitality but I'm not sure what acceptance rates look like. I'm currently enrolled in Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg to get some Gen Eds completed and a higher GPA to replace the one I ended with in highschool back in 2015. I applied on my old GPA and was denied but hopefully come Fall 2027 applications, I'll be accepted in.

As for some other questions uh... I suppose these are more niche? I'll admit, I'm probably a bit old for going back to college, being 30 (turning 31 in December), and transgender (female to male). So the questions are.... how accepting is the environment for 30-somethings on campus? And is there student housing (dorms) that are LGBTQ+ friendly?

Apologies if this is written poorly; I'm running on four cups of coffee, three hours of sleep, and a dream.
