It’s Better; I owned the dbrand and tried the jsaux when it came out earlier this year; never put that tight piece of tire rubber back on again; far better

I have JASUX for my SD and Switch 2. The protrction level are about the same, but all JASUX cover are way easier get on and off. Every time I put on Dbrand case I felt like I'm going to snap something.

Yes. It’s just as protective and a bit thinner. The kickstand is also less intrusive and removable. The only thing I missed about the Dbrand is the grip. I’m a complete fanboy over that sandpaper-like grip.

I'd love something like this but just a face cover. The device is already comfortable enough. Don't see the need for another layer making it larger and retain more heat unnecessarily. Some well cut grip tape goes a long way without adding bulk too

I agree here. I made a post about it recently. I can't find just a screen cover without a case.

Better. Not only is it way cheaper it’s so much easier to snap the travel cover on and off. The Killswitch is a PITA to snap on and off.

For me, it's much better. I picked up the dbrand case at launch and returned it. Didn't enjoy the sandpaper feel of their grips. Picked up the Jsaux case and love it. I don't use the kickstand much, but the strap attachment is nice for battery packs.

I was concerned about the texture of the killswitch and that sandpaper feeling you mentioned is exactly what I was hoping it wasn’t like. Does the Jsaux have a more soft plastic or soft silicone type texture? At this point from what I’ve been reading from you guys, I think I’m just going to grab the Jsaux case instead.

It feels closer to something like the elite2 Xbox or ps edge rubberized grips. Super comfortable with just the right amount of grip

My only question is, does the JSAUX version have cutouts for the fan vents? I’m always worried to put the Dbrand shell on until some time has passed after gaming because I don’t want to trap any residual heat in

I bought one from Aliexpress for 30 bucks and works perfectly fine, no need to spend too much on this

Better than brand for sure. I use JSAUX on my z1e Ally X and man does it deliver.

Never got the killswitch, went straight to this from the jump and I've been enjoying it

I have it works great and preserves space better than a big clunky travel case. Also like how the kickstand and the power bank strap is interchangeable.

I don't have this one, but I use their similar case for Switch 2 and it's absolutely great.

Honestly, I think it's better. Especially when you need to take it off the device. Taking off the dbrand case off the Xbox ally x, is an act of Congress.. it's damn nearly impossible.

I don't know if the quality is good I had the case for the old ally x and it was perfect for this Xbox ally x I feel it's a little loose on the top and the ports don't align but it is not bad for the price dbrand is still better quality

Yep. I bought the JSAUX one after a glowing review, and I'm glad I did. It's easily the best case grip I've had for either Ally I've owned, it just makes the handheld feel far nicer to grip.

the strap on this is convenient for some. dbrand's doesnt have a way top attach accesories.

I picked up mine a week ago and it’s actually amazing as far as cases go. You barely realize it’s there

I have used Jasux cases for several devices I own including ROG Ally (wife’s handheld I got her), two Switch 2’s, and my Xbox Ally X. I have also used this same case on my legion go prior and have nothing but praise for this company. Considering the cost aside which is less than half a dbrand, the quality is just as good if not better in some respects. I want to add I have owned several dbrand cases prior for different devices and never been impressed with what you get for the cost.
I want to add I also have bought the screen protectors they sell and they are just as good. Now granted screen protectors given you don’t buy the cheapest crap out there are usually all just as good, but the matte on these are nice for reducing glare.

Recently got my ally & bought this case to go with it so honestly so far so good. I haven’t dropped it or anything to tell you it’s durability but grip wise it’s very good and the attachable stand is convenient too! I know D brand is promoted as the “better brand” but if you’re on a budget and want something that still gets job done this is more than enough.

No, but it's fine. Dbrand make the thing feel like a tank, and adds the weight to match. This is like a light(er)weight, cheaper alternative.
Personally, I think the Killswitch is too heavy, even though it's easily the highest quality case you can buy. Idk if I'd bother with it again if I could go back.

Nah I don’t even bother with these wrap cases, too much weight. I only buy a cheap traveling case to store it in, other then that you don’t really need any other accessories

Short answer. No.
Long answer. No. BUT it's a decent case at a reasonable price. While the KS is the tougher case, it comes with the drawbacks of weight and cost (both purchase and shipping).
If you are likely to be travelling with your Ally a lot, get the KS. If it's just to survive the occasional bump at home or maybe on your commute then the JS case will probably be sufficient.

I can agree with this. As a train conductor I take either my Ally X or my Steam Deck with me to work. And both have the Killswitch cases on them. I’ve never had a problem feeling like I couldn’t just throw them into my bag when I had to go somewhere with them. Sure they’re bulkier and a slightly more heavier than most, but I don’t have to worry about them getting damaged in transit. I actually returned the JSAUX case because it felt too light for what my demands were.

Looks like im against the majority here. I don’t think the jsaux is as good as the dbrand. Ive tried both side by side before picking the Dbrand case.
The differences I noticed were..
the dbrand had better build quality. The plastic material on the dbrand felt sturdier and thicker in hand. If I’m spending $1000 on a handheld I’d like something a bit more substantial protecting the device. The added bulkiness could be a negative if you have small hands..
The fit of the dbrand case was better. The dbrand is a tighter fit which means there’s less tolerance for the rubber edges of the case to wiggle around. Which I did observe on the jsaux.
Accessory port fitment. The power button cutout on the jsaux slightly covered the power button which forced me to push it out of the way anytime I wanted to use the fingerprint sensor on the ally which was mildly annoying. That said the poorer fitment didn’t prevent me from using the device normally otherwise
The travel cover on the jsaux felt very flimsy compared to the dbrand. I don’t have the travel cover on 95% of the time but when I do, I’m traveling and it’s nice knowing that I have a harder piece of plastic is protecting the front.
The one thing I did prefer on the jsaux though was the accessory attachments. Their implementation of the kickstand was less bulky and more modular.
Now.. the big elephant in the room was the price. The dbrand is about twice as much as the jsaux. If you ask me the dbrand case is NOT worth double the price. I found the case on eBay open box never used for $50 (which you can regularly find) and at that price point it was 100% worth it over the jsaux case.

Yeah looks like we're in the minority here but I'd far rather have a case that actually fits properly and lines up with the power button and USB ports. Also doesn't slip off the top and just all around feel cheap, especially when protecting such an expensive device.
As for the whole taking it on and off... Okay, great. But how often do you actually need to take off the case and why are you doing it so often that it's the main thing people complain about? I swapped my SSD, put the case on and haven't touched it since.

I guess I’m an outlier bc I love my Killswitch it feels sturdier and I’ve dropped my xax and I’d like to say no damage. I like the kick Stand it doesn’t feel cheap.

I have one for my steam deck and like it. Then again I try my hardest to not drop it so I mean 🤷🏽♂️

I honestly think it's better than the dbrand case and I still can't believe I imported the killswitch with the front cover all the way to Europe, it's was just way overpriced for what it is.
The jsaux grip is lighter, the kickstand is removable and with a better quality, you get a (pretty meh but it's there) strap to attach a powerbank, the dbrand kick stand is cheap and stuck in place adding even more weight.
And the front cover is way easier to put and remove, it don't awkwardly bump on the bottom of the ally when you remove it, and there's also some foam padding to protect the screen, all while remaining locked in place.
Also it don't mean much but the back of it is cut to show the rog logo, which is still a nice touch, the dbrand case does not.
