Anyone tried it?

Im selling my computer setup to get an ally, the base model. Is it worth it? I mainly want to play paralives and the Sims 4, but also games like gta, slime rancher, stardew valley, rdr2, fortnight, and maybe valorant. Is this console a good fit for these games? I plan to do some light modding with the Sims as well.

Edit: the reason im selling my pc is because I haven't used it in 3 years, I just dont have the space in my apartment for a setup or time to game at a desktop with my job and school. Its an msi Trident 3 compact pc. A handheld would just fit my lifestyle better.

I bought the x20 to replace my steamdeck OLED ( developed a fault 6 months in, fault keeps coming back 2 years later countless tickets 2 rmas its still got the same fault has come back ) when i go to optimize a game on the x20, even sites like rogallylife dont tell you the out of game settings to use to get it running without stutters and big freezes. Cant remember what setting solved it on elden ring but it was so stuttery and then when i got into combat sometimes the whole screen froze. Which settings are recommended to just never turn on and which might i need to turn on or off to fix games stuttering (out of game settings such as armory crate, windows etc). Its quite overwhelming all the manual optimizing to get games running smooth with no stutters, steamdeck was just lower in game settings.

I skipped the Xbox Ally X and went straight from Ally X (2024) to Xbox Ally X20, so this is my first experience with the dedicated Xbox button. The confusion I'm experiencing is with what it actually does. There is a Comman Center button right next to it, and as one would expect, it opens the command center. In there I can move one tab to the right with a bumper and see my recent games, whatever that tab is called. When I press on the Xbox button, it simply takes me to that second tab with recent games, which I never use. Is this really all it does? It looks cool with the glowing X and all, but as far as I can tell right now, at least for me, it's completely useless. Are there any other functions that can be assigned to it (have a feeling it's a dumb question I already know the answer to)

Any recommendations on tuning the audio on this? It sounds pretty good out of the box but wondering if there are any programs and settings to best tune this?

Hope about some appreciation for this little guy? It’ll help me with my FOMO seeing everyone get their new devices. In all seriousness, I recently downgraded from the X to the base Ally and I’m still enjoying it. I’m really hoping to upgrade by the time the next gen Xbox comes out. Hopefully ASUS releases their next iteration with a more powerful APU by that point.

Just wanted to share more screenshots from assassin's creed shadows running beautifully on my XAX. I know I've posted before but the fact that all the games that i want to play run this well on a freaking handheld is still hard to fathom at times. I think I'm gonna keep my XAX for atleast another year before upgrading to whichever new APU is on the market then. For the settings used, please refer to my previous post on this sub.

Hey all, when I launch a game I can use the triggers to shoot just fine but when I pause it and come back they stop and I have to close the game and start all over. I hate this so much lol. Can anyone help me figure out why it’s doing this so I can fix it?

I called an ASUS ROG Exclusive Store in India,and the employee told me that the Xbox Ally X20 Edition is expected to launch in India in the second week of January 2027.

He also mentioned that they have already received the 20th Anniversary mouse and keyboard at the store.

I’m not sure how reliable this information is, as ASUS has not officially confirmed the Indian launch yet.

I just got my X20 to replace my Ally Xbox. I ran through set up, wasn’t given the usual Win 11 restore from existing backup option. I’ve made a backup on the Xbox. Rather than reinstalling everything manually is there a way to do a transfer to the X20?

I was using the UGREEN 100W charger and it turns out this was related to the USB-c cables. I swapped them out and the Ally X is now charging as it should be (30 mins for 40%-ish charge)

I became an ally yesterday with my X20 and had nothing but positive experiences and been lucky enough to avoid the issues posted here but I did have one weird experience just now.

Was showing 21% battery so plugged it into a new 100w charger and new usb-c cable. The grips started pulse vibrating and wouldn't stop. Turning off vibration in armory crate didn't do anything. I ended up holding down power and completely powering down. Seems to have stopped it, and its just charging now. Common? Google seems to indicate firmware issues or handshaking. I've updated everything I can on the device though

Did anyone buy it for their xax? I just got mine in the mail today from bestbuy and i’m agonizing over whether to buy it or not. I was told I can’t pay for it monthly either? It has to be all up front!? Someone help me please

how are we feeling about the Xbox Ally X20 the second day in?

I received my X20 yesterday from Best Buy and it’s barely been out of the box since then. I was waiting until I got a screen protector before I did any gaming. Today, as I was cleaning it to put the screen protector on, I noticed a small nick in the screen. I’ve tried to clean it with an alcohol wipe, dust grabber, and with a microfiber cloth. Doesn’t come off. When I run my finger over it, I can feel it at certain angles. It’s barely noticeable with the screen on but I do catch glimpses of it. With the screen off, its more noticeable. I’ve added two photos where you can see it, and the last one where you can’t.

Should I return/exchange it? It’s such a bummer because there are no more in stock. I’d have to wait for a new one to ship.

Anyone tried playing the new Reskate on their Ally yet? Curious to see if it performs well.

a question for the ROG Xbox ally Game Support

i want to buy the asus rog ally z1 extreme but I dont find benchmark for the game i want to play. if any person as cs2 at 1080p fsr medium 20w how smoot it is and how many fps whit low setting (dont change the resolution and details for me only if you alredy have ) how warzone runs and fps he gest 25w 6gb vram 720p medium fsr quality

Finally upgraded from my favorite handheld PC Rog ally X, I can't wait to see how games run on the X20.

After telling myself not to spend $1299 on this thing. I folded and just brought it. I will say that the Xbox Rog ally X20 looks really nice in person.

Received my X20 yesterday (UK) but there was no charger with it, is this normal? There looked to be a perfect space for it in the box, but nothing.

Hello everyone, I'm using Rog Xbox ally X z2e. As title said, it's been causing me some issues, firstly, before I docked my handheld it would start up steam just fine, but now after I've started steam up, it causes my internal display drop to 720p which is irritating. Secondly, now whenever I enter hibernate, upon awaking the device the controller will not work with steam input causing me to restart the whole device which kinda defeats the purpose of hibernate as I wish to get back into the game asap. Please help, thank you.

Anyone else’s x20 have a really bad Mura effect in dark rooms or low brightness.
