Nostalgia Omg a sticker wall!
My cousin posted this because they brought it back for her kid’s prize booth. I was so obsessed with stickers that I was beyond excited when I went in a store with my mom and they had these! Remember sticker books?!

Just relived a part of my youth
Scrolling through the endless possibilities of on demand videos and came across an old friend. Had a few drinks and was looking for something to pass the time and found Labyrinth. I haven't watched this in over 10-20 years. It holds up. So many memories wrapped up in this film. Just like most of us that grew up when we did, this was a movie we had on VHS and it had many a mile put on it. What a blast from the past. 48 years old and finished up feeling 10 again. Jim Henson was a magician, no doubt in my mind.

What happened to people calling their kids Jimmy? I feel like I don't see anyone with that name anymore.

Did you and your friends also get hammered in college and endlessly quote Brian Regan bits? Or were you quoting another comic of our time?

Who else was fascinated by the AT&T Infoquest museum in NYC back in the day when tech was fun and not terrifying?
THIS PLACE was a regular destination for my family back in the day. Anyone else lose their marbles here? I miss those days where tech was a delightful, intriguing wonder, not a potentially world-ending destroyer of every discipline we hold dear, as is the case with AI. Josh Johnson had a great speech about that shift from adoring tech breakthroughs to loathing them. Anyway, if you went here, what was your fondest memory? I loved that your name would drift around on the computer screens if you punched it into a card, the Alice in Wonderland computer game, and the robot, of course. “These are the days of miracles and wonder and don’t cry, baby, don’t cry…” - Paul Simon

We get old, but sometimes not older.
Sometimes you gotta roughhouse with a buddy you met back when you were like 30.

Discussion Those of us having to start over professionally in our 40s - what career path are we pursuing?
Laid off. A year and 500 applications later and still no work. I'm beginning to accept that the career I once took for granted is no longer a viable path forward. I need to start over doing something else, but I have no idea what to do.
Anyone else in the same boat? What's the plan?

Jamming to the Sneaker Pimps tonight, still great 30 years later.
I had a great friend in high school that used to buy cd's just based on unusual band names. One time, we went to the mall, and he bought Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X. We both really were taken by the album, and it was something we played whenever we drove around and smoked weed.
I found out that he's had some recent health issues, and from what I understand, he's in a coma and the outlook isn't very postive. Playing this one tonight and thinking about some of our youthful adventures.

It just dawned on me...
It just dawned on me why the carriage return key on PC keyboards is dog legged. The carriage return lever on mechanical typewriters was dog legged so it was easier to blindly push so the shape just got carried over into the key on electric typewriters and word processors, then to computers.

Weird Al Syndrome
Does anyone else have trouble listening to songs from our generation without hearing or even singing the Weird Al version? I cannot listen to Another One Bites The Dust without singing - loudly - Another One Rides The Bus. Or I Love Rocky Road. Might as well face it I'm addicted to spuds.
