Honestly, this main character comes off as a real jerk. He could have stepped in to help that girl, who is completely innocent. I'm seriously starting to despise him.

The dog, Jimmy, actually voiced what has been on my mind this entire time. That boy needs to get off his ass and actually do something 🤣 He's so annoying. He won't even turn around to check if someone's right behind him. It just feels like they're forcing these bad ends in for their own sake. None of it actually seems to unfold naturally.

I don't really think it's forced though The mc probably doesn't really care about the victims He is there just so he could find his sister

yea he's coldness he doesn't care at all only wants to find his sister I kind of dislike him for that but also like him for that it's like a 2 in 1

I wonder if Jimmy is going to considering bailing one him given how he always seems not happy with the MC's habit of not giving a shit about the people horribly murdered.

"I hear weird moaning coming from the forest" me: Look you're that age you should know what's going on in the forest. The moment where the monster appeared in front of the little sister was really great, reminded me of the Ring.
Still three things that surprised me we got a single story this week, the parents were totally okay with the little sister being locked up in her room without reflection and the little sister survived and instead another girl got kidnapped.

Hopefully Fushigi will get some character development as the series goes on
It seems like one character will get the bad end in each story?

Wow! This was an interesting episode. My guess is Sayuri never saw Little Nanoka in the original photo taken. Only Izumi and her other friend did. Sayuri’s 7 day cleanse began when they were in a group chat with Sayuri then taking a photo of them. This is when Little Nanoka first appeared to her as she started freaking out to Izumi letting her know she sees it. This urban legend is more clever than she lets on. Perhaps she knew there was a possibility of Izumi being saved even though she was pretty close to taking Izumi. The true victim was Sayuri all along. And just like that, Sayuri fell for the bait. Oddly, I could have swore I read about this urban legend somewhere before. In the original, the main girl was taken because she looked at a reflection because her time was one minute faster than the true time. I noticed in the opening, the girl from episode 1 is there in the shadow. Well, it looks like her? I wonder will this be an evolving credit type.

I think her countdown was just reset when she took that new photo with LN. Which ironically only happened because of Izumi's warning.

Man, poor Sayuri. It seems in each of these episodes, there’s going to be casualties. Kind of cold for our boy to be like “eh not my problem” and leave these people defenseless against this stuff. How was the girl to know her 7 days weren’t up? Damn.

Welp, those girls are scarred for life. After enduring 4 days of isolation hell, they just saw their friend get kidnapped right before their eyes.
They will never look at a reflection again.
The rest of the story is interesting but I really don't like how people are dying left and right with no aftermath. No one tries to save them, are we just going to assume that the parents are going to be like, "My daughter went mysteriously missing" and then be done with it?
This probably isn't that kind of show but I really do wish all these missing people get a proper conclusion.

You can't convince me that the protagonist dialogue isn't some sort of a parody. Like this skit from Daily Lives of High School Boys. Next thing you know, MC will have kokuenryuu sealed within his body, and he's searching for his soulmate from his previous life.

Okay, yeah, this is episode was pretty fucked. It looks like someone is going to bite the dust every episode, yikes. RIP babe, like a period with a false end give it an extra day.
I didn't forget his name was Jimmy, but it's hilarious to be reminded that it is. Why Jimmy? Also, what can he do? As a person faced dog, does he have myth/yokai/medium/psychic/exorcist powers, or it just the stubble?
Fushigi remains nonchalantly apathetic, he might give advice, if prompted, but anyone getting got isn't really his concern. Can't burn down a bridge that never gets built I guess, but there's no way going over it either.

I liked this episode a lot more than the first to be honest. Pacing issues aside, the horror was very well done and the animation quality was greatly improved. The intro is a banger and has some interesting visuals to go with. Im also glad we're not getting the same exact formula for each episode.
I'm much more invested now, just hope the pacing can slow down a bit and Fushigi can get some proper character development.

They really nailed the horror. This episode is giving me goosebumps too. This might be one of my favorite this season as long as it doesn't go full action mode.
I was expecting two stories since the start was pretty fast-paced, but it's only one this time.
The scene where little sister stayed inside her room feel like waiting for execution. Either you safe or you die. You will never know until the day is up.

Do you know Stine's Goosebumps books? Let's Get Invisible is a little masterpiece.

Just did after you suggested. It's an okay read. It was creepy when Erin got replaced. Knowing how shy she is, her having a straight face was pretty unsettling.
Anyway, curious why you recommending this? I thought it had some similarities with this anime, so I gave it a try lol.

I really thought they got through it...... I'm so upset. I kinda wish Fushigi cared a little bit more about the people who are actively being haunted/cursed. At least Jimmy is caring enough to balance out his uncaring nature. I just wish he had an ability or something that could be of use when trying to save those people

they were really pushing their luck immediately going "Woo lets take a photo right outside the forest again", the girl got her haunting at a later time so it wasn't completely unexpected. But I was kind of expecting them to get immediate karma and get rehaunted again

I am honestly pissed with the MC. I get his motives are to capture the curses and chase his sister, but do you really need to let at least one innocent character die per episode? Like especially the death at the end of this one, traumatized two young girls and potentially ruin 3 families? Fucked up man

u/BBryant3rd 15h ago
Don't think that is a potential those 3 families are ruined. One lost their little girl and 2 little girls will be so messed up they won't be able to function in life.

It was nice to see a horror protagonist taking careful safeguards, and having them matter. Which is also why I found the ending a little disappointing. They were so careful about reflections, and so traumatized by the experience, I find it hard to believe they'd take a selfie again so soon, in the same way as the one that started the trouble.
On the other hand, I was a little nervous when Izumi completely relaxed when the clock showed she was one minute past the dangerous time. Like, I would have padded it out a little in my calendar. Maybe even by a day or two, so I think this counts as subtle foreshadowing for the actually fatal mistake.

So in every episode we will get a death being the person that help the most during the episode even more that the protagonist??? Idk that’s kinda lame for me
