General Question Does anyone actually believe these protests in France are about 'education funding'?

Unfunded schools and hospitals, rentismo and no hope for young people to lead a fulfilling life. Any time french people perceive the rosseau's social contract is broken, the streets burn.

Similar to USA no?
20
u/gaeee983 4h ago
No in the US when a leader is corrupt and scams the public, they cheer him on as strong.
9
3
u/Beginning-Truck546 2h ago
They also reelect him so he can scam the public even more with gross amounts of corruption and then say he is the best leader. USA take pride in ignorance and blind faith.
2
u/gaeee983 2h ago
It is all feelings, like I met many maga supporters who are not stupid at all, you know regular folks, but what they all have in common is that they vote purely based on an imagined feeling of power and being strong, and somehow delude themselves that all the evidence that he does the opposite (not help the poor but help the upper class) is just propaganda, crazy.. I guess that is what happens when you have a whole population where a majority dont have access to decent schools.. With some states even teaching based on the bible instead of science.
1
u/precocious-entity 52m ago
In a sense they're right. Macron was elected on a wave of populism like Trump and there is an eventual infection point where both the public's frustration and populism or the populist leader loses control and the social contract may be lost completely or in parts of countries. Like the George Floyd protests/riots in 2020, the yellow vest movement in 2023 that in a sense were the root to the current protests/riots in France. Or the freedom convey in Canada in 2022 that lasted a month. Just to name a few recent western movements.

So immigrants who have been given the opportunity to stay in France by the government also have the right to steal, set cars on fire, break windows? It’s not what it’s a about dude. It’s about mismatch in culture.

Those aren't immigrants. Black people have existed in France and elsewhere in Europe since before France was a country. There are documented reports of Æthiops in the coastal Greek and Roman provinces during antiquity. A white Europe was always a myth. Even Londinium in Britannia had a small black population discovered by bioarchiologists.

Opportunitistic looting is not protesting. These kids need to get ID'ed and arrested.
3
u/Murky_Nectarine9716 23m ago
Did the protests start because people wanted to loot? Or did the protests start because of living pressures, with looters joining in because humans are capable of both opportunism (looters) and virtue (organisers)?
•

Wow I have never heard that before and I LOVE IT!! I will try to remember it. Similar to the Mark Twain quote about history rhyming.
17
u/that0neBl1p 5h ago
It started with that, then the police responded with a completely disproportionate amount of violence against literal children that caused the movement to explode, then the chaos was taken advantage of by rioters and assholes. Tale as old as time.

3
u/Inevitable_Aioli9257 2h ago
It started as a school-Protest.
But criminal scum took over and started to destroy everything, pretending to be school-protesters

The protests got co-opted by radical groups early on.
The current riots have nothing to do with the original protests.
They’re just hurting regular people now.

Ah American, please disregard my question, you've no idea what you are talking about.
2
2
u/NoStatus9434 5h ago
Can we stop with this whole thing where we accuse people of not knowing what they are talking about and (even though you're probably right and they don't), NOT offering an explanation?
Like I'm not going to pretend I haven't rolled around in the mud and thrown insults, but generally I at least try to offer an explanation to someone who is ignorant first, and if they reject it and start throwing hands with me, then I start throwing hands in turn.
Don't just start with "you know nothing stupid." Like if you know something, at least try to explain what's going on.
I, for one, would like to know. Even though I'm a stoopid American.
Also I'm a stickler in that I like details. A passive agressive sentence or two isn't going to cut it for me. Give me a paragraph at least. No personal insults until I break the social contract, please.
2
u/Haha_goofy_updoot 2h ago
They want to shut down conversation. After the 15 seconds of amygdala activation they start realizing their beliefs aren't rational.
2
u/Adventurous_West2 5h ago
No.
5
u/NoStatus9434 5h ago
All right, so you're part of the problem then. You just want to smirk and feel superior to everyone else.
You know people are ignorant, and presumably you understand more than they do, but you're not offering to explain things to them? How do I know you know what's going on?
For all I know, maybe you're refusing to explain because you can't explain.
0
u/Adventurous_West2 5h ago
I'm not here to explain myself to some weirdo online. You don't fucking run reddit
3
u/NoStatus9434 5h ago
I'm not trying to run Reddit. And I didn't ask you to explain you. You just seem like you know what's going on, so I thought I'd ask for an explanation. That's not weird. What's weird is claiming people know nothing then not clarifying what they ought to know. Why even bother opening your mouth in the first place then? You won't engage with "weirdos" when it comes to actually explaining stuff, but you will waste your time with those same "weirdos" stroking your own ego and feeling superior to them. If engaging with weirdos is what you want to avoid, then you're doing it anyway, the only difference is that now you look like a weirdo too.

2
u/MyhraBooboo 3h ago
You're the one making connections that no one else is. People were complaining about the increased rates of immigration back when it was mainly Eastern Europeans coming over. The level of melanin isn't a consideration for most of us, you just wish it was so that you don't have to think.
2
u/TheTwoAndOnly54 5h ago
Except this has been said for years and if you stopped importing from problem countries 10 years ago that 140 year old building wouldnt have been burnt the other night.
1
u/SoftlockPuzzleBox 5h ago
The centuries of imperialism and exploitation combined with the ruthless crush of modern capitalism might have a few words about that.
2
u/DankuTwo 3h ago
Almost nowhere suffered European imperialism for “centuries”. You basically have India, and a handful of usually pretty small possessions.
People massively overestimate the size, duration, and impact of European imperialism.
2
1
u/Pokrog 3h ago
It's crazy how everything is white peoples fault when aside from basically Pacific Islanders, they're basically the smallest racial minority on earth lol. Somehow 10% of the world is oppressing the other 90% despite barely existing in most of these "oppressed" countries.
Japan got nuked twice and they don't need to make any excuses of how Europe or the US are oppressing them. They just got to fucking work and became a world superpower with no victim card being played whatsoever.
1
u/TheTwoAndOnly54 5h ago
Or its just immigrants from 3rd world shit hole countries acting howd youd expect people that let their country get to a third world shit hole would act?
2
u/SoftlockPuzzleBox 5h ago
Let? Do you know what Europe and America have done to those people? I mean, obviously you don't, but maybe at least attempt to not be so stupid in public? Silence is an option.
→ More replies (2)-1
u/Pokrog 5h ago
FOR. What Europe and America have done FOR those people. And even after insane amounts of intervention in an attempt to bring these third would countries to modern standards, every single time Europe and America stop helping, they regress right back to being a shithole in what seems to be an impossibly short amount of time... Because the only progress being made was BECAUSE of Europe and America and without them helping, these third world countries stagnate with zero progress whatsoever.
4
u/SoftlockPuzzleBox 4h ago
Any western intervention that has occurred doesn't even begin to make up for the centuries of exploitation, war, meddling, purposeful destabilization, and enslavement that caused those regions' modern reality.
5
u/TheTwoAndOnly54 3h ago
When did Africa and the middle east start their civil wars to stop oppressive slavery? Ohh i forgot that actually never happened because slavery is alive and well in those areas. How about how the western world basically had to blockade africa just to stop africans from continuing the slave trade? The billions and billions in aid given to those areas by western countries? They are shit holes in spite of how much modern countries have tried to help.
1
u/SoftlockPuzzleBox 3h ago
The aid is whitewashing propaganda and you are dumb enough to believe it. Western corporations are exploiting the rest of the world for every resource they have and western governments destroy any movement or government that arises to oppose them and install puppets that do everything they say.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Pokrog 3h ago
Ah, the classic "but what about all these things that happened 100 years before any living person on earth today was born?". In 100 years you'd think if there was so much oppression that the lack of it would mean they get to thrive now, but no....still shitholes. Zero advancement without Europe and the US.

u/SoftlockPuzzleBox 3h ago
If you think that events that occurred in the past have no bearing on the present, you are legitimately fucking stupid.

Invite Scum into your country and it ends up Scummy.
1
u/Murky_Nectarine9716 19m ago
The problem is the people you are referring to joined the protest opportunistically. That destroys the original meaning of the protest, and that's by design. French people have been rioting like this since before some countries existed. That's how they keep their government in check. If "they" want to dilute the impact, "they" pivot the narrative. Keep your eyes open. They want you to hate your fellow human, instead of the powers at large, who use mass immigration to sow seeds of hate against our fellow human.
1
u/Vast_Dare8583 16m ago
Mass immigration is sowing the seed of hate.
There's a place for everyone. France is for the French, it's their home.
It's not the conspiracy you suggest, or would like other people to believe.
•
u/Murky_Nectarine9716 9m ago
Here's the thing. I promise you it's a layer deeper than that. The "left" wants to label you as a racist for that view. Is that really racism, or simply a reaction to seeing our way of life of the past get continually worse and worse? Why do they want to label nationalism as racism? Who is benefiting from division, poverty, lack of jobs? The worse life gets for the average joe, the less money companies need to pay for your salary. The lower peoples expectations become. The cycle continues. Who is behind the mass immigration agenda? The recent event in Spain - huge illegal border crossing, look into who was behind it. The "immigrants" were given paid incentives via messaging apps to organise the event. Who paid for the incentives? Who stands to benefit from all this?
•
u/Vast_Dare8583 1m ago
I'm fully aware Immigration is designed to drive down wages through cheap labour but that's not new.

And the sooner the west realizes that the sooner we can engage in a second crusade and push these fucking invaders back to their shitholes.
5

No matter the cause, any protest will always attract groups of people just want to loot or riot. Is that the fault of the people who started it? Or is that human nature? There are many groups in a protest. France has a long history of citizens strongly expressing their views. When French lawmakers passed a bill that badly impacted farmers, those farmers pumped manure into government buildings in protest. Were they wrong? What would the French people eat if the farmers went bankrupt?

Yes; if the schools were properly staffed and funded the students wouldn’t have been in the streets. To whatever extent more people have jumped in is indicative of the kinds of systemic failures of which poor education is a symptoms. It is routine for infiltrators, including police and right wingers, who want to see protests/movement fail get involved and turn them violent to undermine their grievances.
