Well if you're okay with spoilers I'll explain.
First, we need to establish what the avatar is. It is explained in korra that the avatar was created by human merging with the spirit of light and order called raava. That spirit has a counterpart. The spirit of darkness and chaos vaatu. In korra at one point vaatu also merges with a human creating a dark avatar.

Basically, a guy learns how the first Avatar came to be; a man and a powerful spirit who collected all four elements and later fused into one being. He replicates this process with a different powerful spirit, but skips the element collection part, though he’s still a very spiritually powerful waterbender.

I like that. He could artificially create White out of spirits, who then in turn grants supernaturally enhanced bending power to Ichigo. Probably airbending. Similar to how Avatar Sonam artificially tampering with spiritual power led to Tagah being so enhanced as an airbender.

I like him better as an airbender with connections to all the nations, and teachings from all the styles. Some sort of spiritual enhancement too.
In the movie, Tagah became a supernaturally powerful bender as a result of artificial tampering with spiritual power by Avatar Sonam. What if Avatar Aizen continues this trend with his own experiments enchanting objects and harnessing spirits. White could be an artificial construct made of spirits by Aizen, boosting Ichigo similarly to how Tagah was boosted by Sonam’s staff.

Speaking of, I really hope the new series gives Airbending a cool sub-bending type like the other elements have. All Airbending really has is Flight, but the barrier to entry on that is ridiculously high.

I have seen one Chinese animation where MC was good in modern science knowledge and he stopped fire spell by manipulating oxygen in air and made opponent choke on themselves by removing oxygen around them.. it was cool though.

Shakkaho is the kido that Renji can’t do properly so he uses it like suicide bomb. Then in his Bankai, there’s Zagga Teppo which basically turns his target to ash

God I love this too much. Here are my concepts:
Yamamoto - Firebender of ridiculous power and experience in every traditional aspect of bending. His lightning looks like a powerful jet of flames and is more powerful as well
Soifon - Airbender(her Shunko) with incredible agility/mobility
Gin - Waterbender who mastered the water slice/jet move more than anyone else; also uses poison sometimes in his water as a hidden weapon
Unohana - Waterbender/Bloodbender healer with a deadly personality as per post
Aizen - Waterbender who can make skillful ilusions with water/ice reflections; kinda like Unalaq he aims to become more than a normal bender through unnatural methods
Byakuya - Earthbender/Metalbender who prefers(and excels) to masterfully manipulate lots of small pebbles/thin blades instead of huge chunks of his element
Komamura - Earthbender who controls masive earthen humanoids/golems
Kyoraku - Airbender with incredible flexibility and adaptability
Tosen - Airbender who learned to sense everything around him through the air to compensate for his blindness; he mastered an esotheric art of airbending/chi blocking that allows him to overly stimulate or shut down most senses of other humans with powerful wind touching their skin but the effect dissipates very quickly
Toshiro - Waterbender prodigy who almost exclusively Icebends
Kenpachi - Nonbender who beats the crap out of almost every bender
Mayuri - Earthbender who taught himself to bend almost any earthen substance from metals to pigments to dirt etc; not that talented a fighter but he compensates with his ingenuity and personal inventions
Ukitake - Waterbender who stays sick all the time...idk
Yoruichi - Firebender with a real knack for Lightingbending as per post
Urahara - Airbender with unparalleled creativity and great mastery of the basics
Isshin - Firebender
Ichigo - the Avatar, enough said

Earth bender Soi Fon. Since she hates her natural Bankai cause it’s not befitting of a stealthy fighter, I think the equivalent of that would be an Earthbender fighting more airbender-like

A few of these I think would have their own secondary element that they invented. As someone mentioned below Aizen could be a firebender that mastered lighting to such degree and precision that he would invent the incredible OP Mindbending.
Gin would be an earthbender that would utilize waterbending forms in his Dustbending. Making on demand spear from seemingly thin air. Also keeping pouches of something like ground arsenic that he can bend for that toxic touch.
Sound bending already exists but was never refined and Tosen would be the perfect one to refine it
Ukitake would be an airbender, that uses waterbending style to manipulate trajectory of attacks, it could be called mirrorbending.
Mayuri would be a non bender that artificially made himself into a bender, making himself a fake avatar through extensive modifications to himself.
Urahara may also fit that role as well.

My, my, what a delightful array of characters, each bending the elements to their own whims and wiles! It's like a well-choreographed dance battle... with a few unexpected spins and twirls. Watch out for Ichigo, though; avatars have a tendency to steal the show! But don’t worry, I’m sure I can come up with a few surprises of my own. Since most of the main ones have been done, i wanna take a jab at some of my favorites!
Ikkaku - Has to be a fire bender, the fiery personality, the passion for battle, and a general dislike for kido (so airbending and waterbending which has the most kido-like shenanigans are out). I can see a case for earthbending too but his general demeanor screams fire, plus all that getting Bankai all fired up stuff.
Yumichika - Is an Airbender pretending to be an Earthbender. Since Waterbending and Airbending was looked down upon by his closest friend Ikkaku and squad 11, He just pretended to have a very basic understanding of Earthbending. He usually fights by hurling small rocks and sand bending (kinda ironic) whereas in reality, he’s bending the air around those lumps of earth. Secretly he’s a very powerful Airbender who also knows how to Energy bend!
Rangiku - Earthbender, is a really powerful sand bender and will trap opponents in sand hurricanes, slowly choking them to death. Has precise control over even the finest sand.
Isane - A waterbender who specializes in waterbending. Rumor has it that she’s also decently good at ice-bending, but no-one has actually seen her fight.

I think the artist said Aizen would be the Avatar. Which I like, cuz then he could be responsible for supernaturally augmenting Ichigo’s bending prowess, similar to how Sonam augmented Tagah.
I see Kenpachi being a non-bender, but his thing was always that he couldn’t do the things he should be able to do. So he strikes me more as a bender with lost potential. Like an airbender who just can’t get it right, but later starts learning straightforward, simple, powerful attacks with it.

I think both my favorites Komomura and Chad would be earth benders.
I think the main cast would be cool to rep all the elements, Ichigo is a fire nation avatar, Orihime is an air bender, Ruikia is water, Uryu is lightning, Renji is a metal bender, Chad is a regular earth bender

I don't feel like doing the entire Gotei 13 but it's funny to imagine that Mayuri would be the Sokka of the team, no need for bending when you can so easily play god with your inventions

Aizen presents himself as a waterbender, but he's actually an airbender who has such strong mastery that he can use air to push water the way he likes. He uses airbending to bend the light that passes through the air to cause illusions.

Rukia is pretty easily water. I would imagine Ikkaku would be Earth, perhaps with an aptitude for Metal or even Lava bending.
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez is hard to nail down, based on his claw & roars attacks I would probably say Air.
However if I base things on personality, Ikkaku would probably be Fire, however Earth also fits him. Rukia is probably water or air. Grimmjow would probably be fire.

While I agree Urahara would make for a great air bender, I would also take water bending into consideration. Benihime's deconstruction / reconstruction abilities fit water bending quite well. Also with its references to blood, and his aptitude for just about anything, I'm sure blood bending isn't out of the question for him.

Number 3 kinda hit the nail on the head for me already. Fire Nation Yoruichi is too damn good.
Earthbender Nelliel. And she’s still a goat-centaur. We could say she was affected by a spirit, like people in the Avatar Wan flashback are. Earthbends easier paths and walkways for her to run and walk on, both in battle and in her day-to-day.

Toshiro would probably be Water and just primarily use it as Ice similarly like Master Paku. Sajin probably an Earth Bender. However I could see the argument for Fire Bender due to Tenken’s spirit breathing fire. Ichigo is just the Avatar.

I take it Harribel’s sandy hair is from having Si Wong desert tribe blood that practiced crossmarriage with the water tribe nomads in order to solve their water shortages. She learned a style that envolves extracting underground desert water and creating floods, which she enhanced by mimicking the movements of the Shark like spirit Korra and Asami fought in the desert.
Unohana being a water bender that uses people’s own blood to cut them from the inside in a style likened to wielding a katana. She still had her Yachiru nickname, meaning (she who has mastered) ten thousand flows.
Yoruichi is in turn from a fire nation noble clan that studied Xu Ping An’s Lightning bending method into a more fluid style that mimics a cat’s movements in order to charges a lot faster and allows for melee combat at the cost of range. She basically fights like an equalis with electric gauntlets.

No matter what kind of bending Ichigo has he'd probably just "Getsuga Tensho" with a fucking boulder or something. But fire would probably suit him more with that tbh. Though a Getsugha Tenshou Air would be LETHAL as it'll be straight up near invisible.
