No but think these photos are fantastic - and hope it shows people why taking analog photos at protests is not pointless or performative. Digital can be taken altered or deleted beyond your control (if you think we’re not close to a world where this happens open your eyes!) - analog photos cannot be erased and are a record of history. What’s to stop a government accessing your phone or cloud drive and deleting history if they don’t like what you’ve seen?

What is wrong with most comments in here ?! "Oh, they don't look like they should be", "oh, those are thugs". Everything I see in this video isn't violence, or even enough people density to justify this use of force. Like what, 20, maybe 30 people in Place de la Bourse ?! There's more crowd during sales season.
However, causing panic, people can quite easily hurt themselves or the next person while running away.
It doesn't matter what they look like or even what they do at that point : they are resisting oppression. For their rights, for yours, against a government that wants you to be quiet, pay more and more taxes while there's no future anymore, while there's no hope for the people.
Maybe it's time for you to turn the TV down and wake up for your rights too. Let's see what you look like.

We are the country with one of the best purchasing power overall, lowest Gini index (least inequalities), the biggest taxes (on both capital and labor), the biggest %GDP per student invested in education, healthcare, etc.... From what I’ve read in the media, the main thing reported was protesters chanting “ACAB.” Beyond that, I’m genuinely curious what these protests were actually about.
What was their message and what were their demands? Apparently, the demonstrations weren’t officially registered either.
Where I come from, protests have a clear cause, message and demands. I fully support the right to protest, but I struggle to see how destroying public property and shared mobility options helps advance any (unclear) cause

Just 1 question, if you are planning to peacefully protest. Why wear a full face covering? That alone is prohibited.
I won't call them thugs, but there are some violent actors between these 'students' that rile up the crowds and influence enough people to create massive riots that cause a shit ton of damage to Brussels.
Where do you think the money to fix all that public infrastructure is coming from? Right, from the budget that already has a big deficit.
In no way do I agree with a lot of the measures taken by the government. They are definitely untrustworthy and are impacting a lot of people.
But on the other hand we are extremely close of being bankrupt due to a 'rentesneeuwbal' ...
Should they first cut their own wages, and stop spending so much, yeah 100%. But some of those expenditures will direct or indirect impact some part of the population again. So then they will protest. And we are back to square 0.

Rightful use is not my issue. Even when everything is going well , it does happen that they still use weapons. Control kids, even if they are doing nothing, without adult supervision (only some of them if you know what I mean), and some people are totally invisible to them. They do overreact a lot of the time

I think the riots come from apolitical parties that just want anarchy, and will take any chance to create violence.
But there should be an open forum where comments about these riots and perpetrators are not immediately cancelled and dismissed as far right propaganda... This will not fix the issue. This will not prevent any further riots.
