So, here’s the situation. I bought two tickets to Dom Dolla for Halloween weekend for my boyfriend and me. Plot twist: no more boyfriend

My friends already have plans, and there’s no way I’m missing Dom Dolla over a breakup.

A little about me: I’m outgoing, passionate, love meeting new people, and can pretty much have fun anywhere. I love good music, witty banter, and people who don’t take themselves too seriously.

I’ve consistently heard that Aragon Ballroom is the worst venue in Chicago, so bad that it’s maybe not even worth it to go if a DJ you like is playing there.

After last night’s CDW show I think this opinion might be based on outdated info. The venue was completely fine. Sound was at least as good as it would have been at an outdoor Navy Pier show and better than at the indoor Navy Pier ballroom. I made it through security in less than 60 seconds, the bartenders were super nice, the crowd was amazing and I had as much room to dance as I would have at Radius. And I wasn’t prepared for how much character the venue has, it’s a very cool space.

It’s still not the best venue in town but it’s far from the worst; whatever problems they’ve had in the past, it seems they’ve leveled up. Or maybe Collectiv paid for additional production and staff over what's normal? If you are skipping shows specifically and only because they’re at Aragon, you’re missing out. I hope Collectiv starts booking more stuff there instead of Ramova.

I was really looking forward to my first Navy Pier Open Air show but am not nearly as interested in Aragon Ballroom. Should I just request a refund for now and wait for another opportunity?

Show starts at 9 and there are 2 openers so imagining an 11-12:15 set, but anyone know more specifics?

Hey there, friends! So I have tickets for Snowday 3 in January. I am currently living in Indiana, but a recent transplant from Virginia. That said, I have never been to Chicago, much less this specific venue. I really just am looking for a bit of info/help on things.

It’s a group of 5 of us that will be going and splitting a rental. First question would be is it probably more with it to do an Airbnb rather than getting two or more hotel rooms?

Second, how is navy pier? Is there anything rave wise that we aren’t allowed to bring in? And what about security checks at the door. You know… we pay a lot for the lights to be prettier and I’d hate to have that taken from me 😉 what about water bottles or anything else like that?

Third, we will be in town and free to roam the area during the day while waiting for doors to open Friday and Saturday. What should I/we do in the meantime (I’m the only one of the 5 who’s never been to Chicago).

Fourth… WHOS GOIN?! Would love to have some extra friends to meet up with and get some drinks prior to the show(s). Between the five of us, we have queer folk of all variety, as well as one who boldly will label themself as “flexible in the right kind of night” 😂
