Is it realistic for me to move to China to become a purchasing agent? (2 or 3 years)
Well, as the title says, in about two weeks I’m going to the Canton Fair to look for suppliers and new opportunities for a family business we have in our country. But I see an opportunity because there’s a lot of demand for imports in various sectors in my country, and I’d like to take advantage of that by being one of the first to focus on those markets. The question is… what would be a realistic way to go about it? I have no idea how things work over there.
What I mean is, I don't even know where to start. Do you think it's a good idea to submit my resume to several companies while I'm there? Should I start a business in China so I can hire myself and live there on a work visa? I feel like it's going to be tough, but I've already seen several Latin Americans do it, and I have nothing to lose by trying.
