We have a tradition in our family where my children eat cake for breakfast on their birthdays, and they can choose a theme for the breakfast. My son is obsessed with his bird zeke so he chose a cockatiel theme. I think the cake turned out super cute 🥰

I’ve been buying and selling old film cameras on eBay. Spooky is my primary test model. This is a mix of point and shoot, SLR, instant and medium format film cameras

All on her terms! I won’t attempt contact if she pulls her head away or attempts to bite me. Go in gentle and work your way up. Patience is key! This technique has worked for me with other cockatiels and conures, but only after they have already been familiar with me. If they won’t step up, don’t try it.

I took this girl in a few weeks ago after a family had to rehome her. Unfortunately, they had received bad advice from the pet store they bought her from and fed her an all seed diet. So yes, she is chunky. The good news is that she has already transitioned to a pellet and produce based diet! Her journey isn’t over yet, as we still have quite a lot of CHONK to get through, but she has an upcoming vet appointment to evaluate her progress!

Made with random shit from my fridge (carrots, green beans, broccoli, red bell pepper, and cilantro). He seems to love the broccoli. Jury is still out on the cilantro.

My girl used to never be into him. Just tolerated him. Now theyre getting freaky MULTIPLE times a day. So far so eggs. But i have seen them wandering around the floor i would assume looking for a nesty spot which so far theyve had no luck.
Do i need to separate them? I hear that its normal for them to mate as long as theres no eggs. I dont mean to sex shame, but this is a ridiculous amount..

I picked him out for my 7th birthday. Two decades later, he now lives with my husband and me! Although he is a bit slower and grumpier than he used to be, he still loves coming out of his cage for head rubs, popcorn, and destroying anything he can get his beak on.

this is a video of my bird snow. I've got any tests for any of my three (two 8 months old and one 2-ish months old) and in the last few days snow has been inside their food bowl and under those stairs making this noise. the nearest avian vet is a couple hours away so I wanted to know if the good ol' reddit folks would have any idea

Today I noticed peaches neck is changing to, well peach lol. What does this mean? My boyfriend said potentially cheek bleeding or a split gene mutation. I know for sure she is pearl lutino.

*Peachy is hand raised and a little special so she is very good with being handled*

Boppo has a mutation that made his eyes a light blue as a baby and fades into a soft blue-white-grey hue as he gets older. It shows up in the sun 🥲

Just noticed this, he seems to be shaking, it’s summer here in Australia but we’re having some rain, still.. it’s been colder in winter and I don’t remember him shaking. I’ve had him for a few months now (he still doesn’t like me very much and won’t come to me but he still makes noises. Not sure what this means

Advice Fighting at bed time

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello,

I have 2 cockatiels Billy (M) and Charley (F), and every night Charley wants to be close to Billy, but Billy doesn't like it and wants his own space.

This results in him being agitated and pecking at her aggressively (imo) every night, as I'm winding them down for bed time.

They love the 2 perches up at the front of the cage for winding down. Charley used to sit on the left one, and Billy on the right one. But recently Charley has been insisting on sharing Billy's perch with him, which has increased the agitation from Billy.

Charley just refuses to budge. She doesn't ever get the message from Billy.

Does anyone have any suggestions to put an end to this?
