This was such a gorgeous book. And an untapped (at that time) story idea of the government agency and agents tasked with dealing with superheroes. It was a fun book. DC took some really cool swings in that era. Chase, Chronos, Hourman, Spectre (Hal Jordan), and most importantly Starman.

That era of DC was weirdly consistent with its side books, Chase and Chronos both deserved longer runs

Chronos is the time traveler right?

Resurrection Man, Ray, Aztek, Hitman, JSA and JLA relaunches, Long Halloween, legionaires, Kingdom Come, The Invisibles, Preacher, Transmet, SMT.

Post Zero hour to end of the millennium DC really swung for the fences. It's by far my favorite era for DC and it's imprints.

There is a lot to love about the mid90s and most of it is DC. I would add Waid's Flash and P.David's Supergirl to your mix.

I heard Starman being in the notes and it referenced Emerald Twilight which I'm still reading other GL comics first finished Hard Traveling heroes twice Space Traveling heroes recently as well as GAS twice now Secret origins/files Pt 1 and 2 of no fear 2005 Emerald Dawn Pt 1 and 2 and Regin of the Superman before S3 of MAWS. I'm hoping to understand Hal Jordan and the lanterns more before moving onto twilight

Yeah DC doesn't like giving anyone but Batman a chance I'm on Chase one million now I think it'll be cut soon I'm just hoping there is no cliffhangers.

Always looked at this cover as (it's a grabby one) and was tempted to check it out.

Ultimately passed as it gives Marvel's Dakota North-vibes...something that feels cool in concept but isn't all that great in the end.

I might pick it up one of these days...

Definitely disagree it understands it's concept while still remembering what made superheroes and the thing it's I think deconstructing so well liked and developing even it's side cast well.

Fair. Also the fact that it's a late-90s book didn't help matters in terms of adding to the pull list.

Been burned and or had my time wasted by many a late-90s series.

I disagree there a lot of 90s stuff has things we may not like but is the peak of comics to me so far I used a free site to find it.

I absolutely loved it. The gorgeous JH Williams art matched the X-Files like view at super heroes perfectly. When they cancelled the book i thought DC really dropped the ball, and they could have had a massive hit. And a few years later Gotham Central used a similar law enforcement perspective and became a fan favorite.

I have Gotham central book 1 by Greg rucka and I watched the hell out of Gotham in middle school.

Hope they bring it back or her in the Waller show DCU is doing.

I loved this series. It might have been my first experience with JH Williams? At the least, it put him on my radar.

Give me a nice Omnibus or Compendium or something. I know it’s dated, but for the art alone it’s worth it

DCU mentioned Waller so maybe it has a chance of coming back and Batwoman 2011 is written with her creator and had her back I'm not aware of it's a sequel and seems more like a villain than an anti hero like her trying to to blackmail Batwoman to find out about Batman incorporated still good maybe I'm missing something.

It's criminal that this only lasted 10 issues. The story was very cool and different from the regular super hero fare; more importantly, this was my introduction to JH Williams III.

You can find his Batwoman new 52 2011 with Greg rucka I loved it but as I explained with other guy she seemed more like a villain than anti hero could be wrong

Of all the new series I was reading around that time (Chronos, Major Bummer, Resurrection Man, A. Bizarro), Chase was one of my favorites. And I love she was popping up in the DCU, too. I wish they'd have done more with her, but for the series we got, we got something good. One of the first times I saw the art of J.H. Williams III, as well.

JH Williams III is one of the greats - this is where I 1st saw his work, I think, or anyway noticed him as the artist

You may also like Andreyko's Manhunter series. Similar vibe iirc.
