I had come up with an idea to buy a shadowbox for a WWE belt to hang on wall, and have the felt background be hand-painted on, moments from john cenas career. I really want him to sign it but im afraid they wont allow it since the case is 64 inches long, not heavy, its just big. I purchased a bulky item auto ticket without doing my research first and i already have a feeling they will not allow me to bring it in. Anyone have any idea if they might let me get this piece signed? Idk what’s the biggest item allowed in. Thanks.

Hi! Im going to this convention and there are sonic voice actors so for me? This is PRETTY rare to have a convention near me that has sonic voice actors. And it has Lisa Ortiz! My most wanted to meet Va (other than maybe Roger Craig smith). So I really want to make sure I get a print I like signed. Is there a way to check to see what prints a guest will bring? I saw for example Ryan Drummond and Keith Silverstein have some prints online from a site called streamily where they sign autographs. Do you think those will be the same prints they’ll bring to the cons? And Lisa Ortiz, Scott Drier, and David Humphrey don’t have anything on that site and I don’t even know if the ones on streamily will be the ones they bring to a con. This is just really special for me and finding and buying prints myself and ones that will come in time is hard and an extra expense.
In short: Is there any way I can check what prints will be brought by guests like Lisa Ortiz who’ll be there?

hi! so i'm going to RICC next month, i went to buy a photo op for someone and it says the time is TBD, which kinda makes me nervous cause i'm coming from NYC and won't get there til about 12 pm. should i just book my travel for now, and wait until they drop the time before purchasing it incase? i've never traveled for a con before lol so i'm not quite sure what to do.

Hey everyone! I'm sort of a newbie going to cons as I've only been to SDCC a while back and Boston Fan Expo the last 2 years but I went more as a casual looking at the vendors and didn't really experience the con itself as I was shy. I've been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and have been wanting to go to a con in cosplay for a while but I'm kinda scared of going solo and not having a good time..any advice? The convention is about 90 mins away from me so I'm considering going on a Saturday!
(Ps I'm thinking of cosplaying Winter Soldier 🔥)

I want to get Funkos signed on the website to buy tickets to get autographs some guests just say auto 8x10 or premium auto or just auto at table. Does premium auto include Funko pops or whatever item someone may have brought? Would just auto at table mean they would sign a pop? I’ve never been to a comic con just looking for answers thanks!!

I can’t find anything related to Ricc anywhere at all so this is my best bet at the moment. This is going to be my 2nd time going to RICC but 1st time cosplaying at this convention. I have cosplayed before at pax east. I’m planning to cosplay Satan from helluva boss. It’s been a rough project but at least it’s almost done!
As stated in the title, I’m curious to see if the convention would allow these type of wings. I’ve tried to look at their policy & rules but I’m just not a 100% sure if this would align with it or not. If anyone has any input for the convention center, please let me know. Thanks!!
I will be there for 2 days this year. Not flying, driving from the northern Boston area but staying close by.

Planning on attending my first comic con in November planning out how much money I need to save up. I see the 3 Day VIP ticket is $311 and was wondering is VIP worth it? I don’t think I’ll go all 3 days but probably will 2 of the days. So far there are 4 people I’d like to do photos with and get an autograph from. Getting 2 single days is $178 I would definitely save some money doing that, but am wondering if the VIP benefits are worth the extra money?

I haven't been to a lot of comic cons, and the last one I went to was at least 6 years ago, so I had some questions about how autographs are done now. I'm planning to go to the RI comic con, and pay for both the pro photo op, and autograph. In the past, I would get my photo done, and then get that autographed, do they still do it that way?
If there's 8x10s at the table, is only one included in the autograph price? Can I get more than one item autographed, or do I need to buy multiple autograph tickets?
This year will be different because in past years, my kids were young, so they were always free or cheap, and they didn't care about autographs, but this year they're both teens who need adult tickets, and at least one will absolutely want their own autograph. I just need to know how to plan so no one is disappointed.

Will be going to my first comic con in rhode island and noticed every guest has pre orders. Can i just purchase the auto at the table and take a selfie instead of buying a pro photo?

So far the guest list consists of voice actors, stunt people, or simply people that I’ve either never heard of or just aren’t interested in seeing.
Now, I know it’s only the middle of July and the event is still 4 months away. So there’s obviously still plenty of time for things to change. But so far, the lineup feels pretty weak compared to previous years.
Edit: I meant underwhelming

We had a great time today at our first comic con in Rhode Island!
Honest review - The best part about the whole event was being able to see everyone (not many) in their costumes and meeting some cool venders!
Buttttt … it was pretty expensive for an event based around other sellers selling their merchandise. The tickets should be more affordable because that would generate even more revenue for them altogether . Some of the celebrities were totally hidden in their booths so that (no one could sneak photos with them) but isn’t that the whole point of going to an event like that ?, so even if you don’t get the opportunity to pay for an autograph you’d still get to see them from afar? (Did not pass the vibe check) These celebrities should feel honored that they have so many fans (in this day and age) and even use it as a marketing tool and yah yah I get it they have to make their money as well but still it felt a little too “you peasants“ type of vibe. Most of the venders didn’t have as much collectibles as you would have thought. A LOT of 3d printed trinkets booths. Not as much comic stuff as I would have expected.Just a little disappointing that there wasn’t much to see.
The physical tickets are really cool tho ! Holographic ! (Great ! I’ll Add it to my memory’s book 🥹!)
But nonetheless we always try to make best of it.😘 A great “I’m glad I did it once ” type of memory 💛🫶🏻

As someone who had last been to this show in late 2021, I gotta admit this line is so far amazing! At least imo.
They have invited these actors that I'd like to meet from the line up:

I did not attend, but just from the postings here it seems like the con has some real problems. Lots of cancelled guests, including day-of cancellations. A draconian refund/exchange policy. Outrageous lines. Capped lines. A website with minimal information that's had to find if it's there. Rising prices.
Will people be going back next year?

is anyone excited that he's coming to Rhodd Island Comic Con this year?

Does anyone know when volunteer applications open up for the Rhode Island comic con?

Who else is going? How excited are you? There's a lot of guests I'm looking forward to seeing this year, but I'm waiting to buy anything just in case of cancellations. I keep checking the website and so far there's been 12 cancellations. Not too bad, but there's still a lot of time left that I'm hesitant to purchase anything.
Last year I waited 5 days before the show to purchase photo ops, and one of them still cancelled the day before.
Hopefully they'll finalize the schedule soon so we can do some more planning. I also hope the photo op area is more organized than last year, but it seems to be a mess every year. They can never get it right.

Hello everyone, I’m from the state of Connecticut and as such, this would be my first time going to this comic con. I’m obviously very excited to dress up meet fellow cosplayers, and I am trying to hopefully get a picture with a celebrity. Having said that, my question is this: is it better to take the train to Rhode Island or to park? And is there anything I should know for my first time?

Disclaimer - this may be the wrong subreddit, feel free to help redirect me here.
I’ve never been to a comic con before, and I’ll be attending one this weekend to meet the professional wrestler Sting.
I’m seeking both general advice on how early to arrive (he appears at 12 noon) as well as how interactions with your heroes have gone? Generally when meeting someone I greatly admire I don’t say much because I’m in shock, but I don’t want to blow this.
Anyone who has met Sting, or their hero, any advice is appreciated. 🖤

I was excited to meet Jon last year and this year even got Punisher cosplay ready this year, I know they are busy sometimes but damn he was scheduled for two days this year, good thing I didn’t buy a ticket to go, just know I’ll get a refund for the photo op

What does the VIP mean next to the person??

Hey all! So my friend and I wanted to go to RI Comic Con on Friday. But unfortunately the only time my friend and I can get the tickets is Friday the day of (if that's even possible). So I guess my question is, can you get tickets at the place the day of? Are they going to be more money if so?
r/comiccon • u/skweaks • Nov 03 '25
I know, silly question, but it seems comic books are becoming more of an afterthought at these shows. I am thinking about going, but I mainly only collect comic books.
Are there many comic book vendors at this show? Or are they mostly focused on other things?
Thanks guys!
