When I had green hair, they would pat my head down. They also always pat down my right ankle because it "looks like there's something there" - I think I broke it at one point and it healed weird and it always triggers TSA now.

What do you mean "I think I broke it"? Do you have like wolverine level of healing, because otherwise I'm pretty sure you'd know for sure if ypu broke it or not 😅

I broke a neck vertebra once and didn't know until the next day when a Dr asked for an xray to be taken just in case

Oh damn, did you feel it at all? I've heard stories of hairline fractures getting overlooked because they didn't hurt but with something like the neck you think it would be worse than most bones.

I had an elbow fracture that required surgery & screws to be put in, which, I thought, ‘couldn’t be a fracture, surely that would hurt a lot more’! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Apparently I just tolerated pain better than expected.

Hey, twin! I broke my elbow this year too and went into the urgent care center asking if it was sprained, had my ORIF a month later.

Welllll, I fell down the stairs after my wedding and we left for our honeymoon the next morning at like 5:30 AM. I refused to go to the doctor because I didn't want to be inconvenient but I was in a lot of pain. It hurt so bad I limped the entire honeymoon. I probably didn't break it but I've rolled/twisted that same ankle over and over again my whole life.

ETA: I was the one who felt it was inconvenient; my husband wanted to take me to the ER. Also, my parents always made it seem like you don't go to the ER unless you're almost dead/need a fingertip reattached or something.

OK, fair. ER is expensive, and if I could walk, even if it hurt, I probably wouldn't go either.

Probably a lot different, but I'm very confident that I broke two of my toes a few years back, and everyone in my house took one look at it and we're just like, yeah, that's broken af. But my aunt told me that the hospital wouldn't be able to do much of anything for a broken toe other than look at it, maybe X-ray it, and probably cost a lot, so she went out, bought some medical tape, and just took care of it ourselves. I still can't say for sure that it was broken cause a doctor didn't look at it, but I'm pretty certain. Again though, I'm sure an ankle is way different

Obviously it worked out fine, but one reason to go for a broken toe is to make sure it is set right and heals properly. Besides the possibility of infection, if it does heal wrong it can effect you the rest of your life.

Oh... Well, if it ever happens again. Good to know, thanks

My partner broke his ankle but because he was wearing boots that held it in place, he didn't think anything was majorly wrong with the pain til he took his boots off and it swelled up.

He still just assumed sprain even though it hurt like a bitch. Months later went to the doctor to be told it had broken and healed weird. It was when he was younger so can't remember what happened after that

I get my right ankle flagged too!!! I haven’t broken it though, so no idea why it would trigger the scanner

Every time I go through a different part of my body sets it off. Totally random spots so I don’t know what that means

Question, where you not there at time that "i migjt have broken it?" Or was it like an injury you got when you were like 3 years old and it's like the only memory you have at that time of your life? Im generally curious
