Glass partition is also probably cheaper than a separating wall.
Ngl though, it makes the hotel room feel like I'm back in a brothel. We always had at least a shower/bath in the room, and it really feels in the room when someone is in the bathroom with just glass between you

Forget where I saw it, but someone put forth a theory it's to discourage business travelers from sharing rooms
