Do co-workers really share rooms?? I travel often in my line of work with co-workers, and regardless of which company it has been for, we always get our own rooms. I could not imagine doubling up.
I've only ever seen it with one employer. It was a small, founder-centric shop, so if founder thought sharing rooms was what the budget required, that was all she wrote. It sucked, and I stopped traveling for that job pretty quick

Forget where I saw it, but someone put forth a theory it's to discourage business travelers from sharing rooms
