We’re at a crossroads of localization theory: do we prioritize semantic fidelity, preserving the literal meaning of the words as you suggest? Or do we prioritize phonetic fidelity, sacrificing exact meaning to perfectly substitute the rhyme of 'fuck' with 'hyuck'?

This hits on something I keep running into, and I think it just comes down to intuitively finding the right balance dictated ultimately by iteratively refining one's taste which to me is something like getting the knack for composition in illustration or photography
