I recently interviewed at a place that tried to brag about “unlimited PTO”, and then in the office explained that most of them come in when they’re sick, and one guy confessed that the work life balance(including coming in on weekends with no notice) was a contributing factor in his divorce. He’s been there 12 years. He even bragged that he gets a “2% raise every single year, no matter what”. Why do people do this?
