Ehhh … I’ve gone on dates with a lot of people, and over the years I narrowed down my first experiences to simple “get to know you in person” activities of about an hour long. I went for places that’d help spark conversation or elicit a shared new experience.

I found that watching each other interact with the world was far more interesting than just sitting somewhere having what amounts to an interview.

If that sparked any interest, friendly, romantic, or sexual, then I’d follow up with something that’d allow us to talk more, like a stroll along the bay or some such.
