even fortune cookies aren't safe from advertising anymore

I think we might've taken this whole advertising thing a little too far.

I went to get Chinese food yesterday and the fortune cookie at the end had an ad printed on the paper inside. Not sure why but that annoyed me way more than it probably should have.

It's just funny to me how there's apparently no limit anymore. The gas pump talks to me, my TV wants me to subscribe to six different things, and every time I look something up online I spend the next week seeing ads for it.

Now somebody's figured out how to advertise to me through a cookie.

I miss when you could just buy something and that was the end of it. Not everything needs to be another opportunity to get my attention or my money.

Anyway that's my completely unnecessary complaint for today.

Upstairs neighbors are on some bullshit and it's upsetting my pets

so my upstairs neighbors are pretty loud but I have a high tolerance so I've never complained about it before. not when they're playing what I can only assume is bowling ball soccer on rolling skates. or when they vacuum at 3am. or their usual loud walking and god knows whatever else they do up there. I mean I doubt id be quiet all the time too if I lived above anybody but tonight... they've been carrying stuff upstairs for an hour I don't know what but it seems heavy cause because they drop it and it makes an extremely loud thud. and they're walking back and forth very heavy footed and loud laughing outside and more banging and slamming doors. again I don't usually care too much but I have a hyper anxious dog and I can usually get him to calm down but the noises are so constant and loud that the usual training tricks aren't working and I can't get him to stop growling and barking which probably is upsetting my nextdoor neighbor who has a yappy dog so I gotta worry about setting off the choir of dogs that live in this building. it's scaring my cat Cornbread too. he's recently come off the streets and definitely had street cat behavior so he's real skittish and I can't get him to come out from under the bed. I'm just at my wits end with it all

Toxic Comments on Instagram need to stop

(29F) I'm used to getting hate comments here & there, but lately, it's been nothing but massive waves of hate comments on Instagram. I'm not even posting anything "controversial"; I'm an artist so I'm posting art & posting videos of myself being silly to make others laugh. Some of these comments are truly horrific; causing me to cry & question what I did to deserve this degree of hate.

I think it's worth mentioning that I have autism & Complex PTSD; so it's already difficult living with these. I don't need some immature troll online adding onto what I already deal with daily. I've been through enough in my life & am just trying to find a bit of joy in posting online.

Trigger Warning: I got told to kill myself, to delete my account, to hang myself, got called the N word a few times, the R word, the F slur, someone told me "they were gonna make me a mother" & I get a lot of "hateful meme" comments that are mean spirited...all for posting silly content of either myself or timelapse drawings! I usually block the people who post these comments & delete the comments due to how uncomfortable they make me & for my own safety.

Like, some of these people are so determined to shit on me that they find a post where I have open comments & call me a "fascist" & that I'm "taking away their freedom of speech" all bc I'm trying to protect myself against toxicity.

What even is the actual purpose of this behavior? Like what's the goal here, what is the end goal in doing things like this? Why be so persistant in spreading hate & toxicity to a random, 29 year old autistic woman on the internet? I understand that hate comments are "normal" online, but this seems excessive. I don't know if they're bots, trolls; I have no clue. But like, how fucking hard is it to block a profile if you don't like the person's content? People act like they're contractually obligated to comment on everything they see, even if they hate it, and they're not! And what happened to "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?
