Cold/Slow Compost Last year compost pile; this year Pumpkins heaven
Just wanted to share how happy my little pumpkin plant seems to be in its compost pile 🎃

Squash in particular seem to love popping back up in the compost! Over the years, I’ve had a number of these volunteers. Usually Cucurbita pepo cultivars or variants. Sometimes I replant elsewhere, sometimes I leave them be.

I planted it on purpose on the pile because I know how much pumpkin loves the nutrious "fresh" compost. A few years ago I had 20 hokkaidos from a single plant on the compost pile.

Mmm. Last year I had Koginut and Spaghetti Squash coming out of one of my open bins. I didn’t get around to planting Red Kuris this year.

I find the whole process so satisfyingÂ
Break down, build up, break down, build up
