Mine tasted like absolute trash and kerosene. It is not as simple as breaking and eating. I think they need to be soaked in water repeatedly to remove the poopy taste.

I think it's an aging thing. I didn't touch them for about 9 months. Or maybe they were too far rotted out?

I believe there is a boiling technique used to remove the bitterness.

Yep. There is and I never got there because I ran out of steam.

Yeah you’re meant to soak them and get the tannins out I believe
