Hello fellow Redditors, specially those with SBI Phonepay Black
If I apply through Phonepay app for this card, would at same stage SBI’s credit application review algorithm reject my application if it assumes I am over leveraged?
I hold 4 unsecured cards, 3 acquired in July - September.
15 L limit across all 4 together
Any guidance will be appreciated.

27M here. Thought I’d share my credit card journey since I’ve learnt quite a bit from this sub over the last few months.
Until around 3-4 months ago, I had never really used credit cards. My only credit history was an education loan, and my CIBIL was around 726.
This all started because I have an upcoming US business trip and wanted a card that would be useful abroad. My first choice was Scapia Federal, mainly for zero forex, but the application got rejected due to low score.
That’s when I came across Niyo DCB. Since it was secured and I was completely new to credit cards, it made sense. Got it approved and started learning about credit related terminologies like statement cycles, utilization, MCCs, cashback, lounge access, forex, etc.
After that, I wanted my first unsecured card.
Most of my spending is online, so SBI Cashback was an obvious option. Applied and got approved with a ₹55k limit.
Until then, almost everything was through my debit card. Once I simply redirected my regular online spends to SBI Cashback and started seeing the cashback come in, I started understanding why people use credit cards.
I wasn’t spending extra or chasing rewards. Same expenses, different payment method, but now getting something back.
Since my US trip was confirmed, I also wanted a card with lounge access without a high minimum-spend requirement, preferably LTF. After some research I applied for IndusInd Tiger, but got rejected without any proper reason. I’m still following up with them to understand the rejection and whether they can reconsider.
Meanwhile, I moved my salary account to HDFC. After a couple of salary credits, I was reached out by HDFC RM and they offered me Millennia LTF with a ₹1 lakh limit.
Core HDFC card + LTF, so why not? Applied and received it within 2-3 days.
By this point I had started reading this sub quite a lot, and one card I kept coming across was HSBC Live+.
Looked into the benefits and liked the 10% cashback on eligible categories along with lounge access without having to hit a minimum spend just for lounge eligibility.
By then my CIBIL had also improved from 726 to 772.
Applied through the HSBC portal, completed VKYC on Monday, and the physical card was delivered on Friday with a ₹1.5 lakh limit.
Honestly wasn’t expecting HSBC to be that quick :)
Another thing I learnt from this sub was Visa PoshVine. Coincidentally, I now have:
Niyo DCB - Visa Platinum
HDFC Millennia - Visa Signature
HSBC Live+ - Visa Infinite
Already got ₹750 Amazon vouchers through the Visa offer on Niyo and Millennia. Did the qualifying transaction on HSBC as well, so hopefully another ₹750 there.
My current usage plan is pretty simple:
Company food card: first ₹5k/month for eligible food/grocery spends since it is tax exempt for me
HSBC Live+: remaining groceries, Blinkit/JioMart, dining and eligible utilities
SBI Cashback: Amazon and most miscellaneous online spends
HDFC Millennia: HDFC instant discounts and backup if SBI cashback cap is hit
I’m still checking with IndusInd about Tiger and also seeing if I become eligible for the Axis version of Scapia.
But honestly, if I don’t get either, I’m fine with it. My current cards already cover most of what I wanted.
Still relatively new to this, so would love suggestions.
Anything you’d change in how I’m using these cards? Any obvious benefits I’m missing, or should I just stop applying now and let these cards age for a while?
Also, if anyone is applying for any of the cards I currently have and has questions about the application process, timelines, approval experience, limits, etc., happy to share whatever I know from my experience.
TL;DR: Started with a 726 CIBIL and no credit cards apart from an education-loan history. Scapia got rejected, then got Niyo DCB, followed by SBI Cashback (₹55k), HDFC Millennia LTF (₹1L) and now HSBC Live+ (₹1.5L), which was approved and delivered in 4 days. CIBIL is now 772. Current plan is Company food card for the first ₹5k of food/grocery spends, HSBC for 10% categories, SBI Cashback for most online spends, and Millennia for HDFC offers/backup. Still checking IndusInd Tiger/Scapia, but current setup already covers most of my needs.

Hi guys,
Sharing the list of credit cards that are tied up with cashkaro and provide cashkaro rewards (in descending order of maximum possible rewards) if applied through the cashkaro platform (you actually have to get accepted + activate the card to receive the cashkaro rewards):
I remember seeing a post of a tie up of cash karo with this subreddit in which they were offerring slightly higher rewards (I think 20%?) for the members of this subreddit. I think I saw this about a year ago, but they didn't mention the process so I couldn't use it. If someone was able to get it working for additional, a comment / DM with the steps to get that additional cashback would be highly appreciated.

I need suggestions. I want best credit cards that are good for lounge access at airports. They shouldn't have spend criteria and should have joining/annual fees. Or it should be minimum like 500.
I found a few:
Indusind Tiger (application rejected)
HSBC cashback (rejected during kyc)
Suryoday sf bank rupay cc
What other options should I explore?

My CIBIL score dropped by 2 points despite having no hard inquiries, making all payments on time, and having no outstanding dues. I even pay my credit card bills on the same day they are generated.
I have two secured credit cards and maintain around 1% credit utilization on both (CC age 2 and 3 months)
While researching the reason for the drop, I came across the AZEO (All Zero Except One) method, where you keep one card reporting a small balance and the remaining cards reporting zero utilization.
For those familiar with the Indian credit scoring system, is this method effective for improving CIBIL scores? Could keeping one card at 1% utilization and the other at 0% help, or could it negatively affect my score?
I'd appreciate insights from anyone with experience or expertise in this area.
NB: I know 2 Point drop isn't anything, but am actively trying to improve my score.

I had 94k as my limit and today I got the message stating limit increased approx 98k. Is it normal or hdfc is being generous, I saw a lot of post about hdfc increasing limits these days.

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to apply for an SBI credit card, but I’ve run into a bizarre technical issue on their application portal. The field for the First Name only allows a maximum of 10 characters.
My actual first name is longer than 10 characters. If I cut it short to fit their system, it won't match my PAN or Aadhaar card, which will obviously lead to an automatic KYC rejection.
Has anyone with a long first name dealt with this legacy system bug at SBI Card before?
• How did you get past the application stage?
• Did you use a specific abbreviation that didn't mess up your KYC?
• Is there a way to force an offline/physical application through an agent where they can override this?
Appreciate any advice or workarounds you guys might have. Thanks!

Want to plan a Europe Trip next year (Swiss, France and Italy) around May end / Early June.
Current Points Balance:
Atlas: 60k
HSBC: 20k
HDFC RG: 25k
Amex: 10k
Qatar: 18k
Need 3 business class tickets, which routes are possible ?
We are family of 3 including 2.5 year old kid. If 3 business class tickets aren’t possible if there a possibility that we book 2 business class adult tickets and one revenue kid ticket / call customer care to add it to the same PNR ?
Will the flight staff allow 2.5 year kid on lap in Business class along with us ? Is Qsuites possible ?
If not possible then can you suggest some stopover countries which might be good addition to Europe trip ? Able to think of Istanbul Turkey. Would like to avoid Middle East.
What the redemption options for Economy tickets ?
Mostly I will move HSBC and HDFC RG points to Accor for Hotel stays. So Atlas and Amex points to be then used in that case for flights.

Hello . I recently made some large transactions into my savings account of dcb bank . Needed money (around 1.5L ) , took out from a cc and gave it back in like a week for so . Did it twice in April .
At around september start , the bank froze my debit channels . No reason given . Visited branch . They told me I did transactions above my kyc limit (student) . So they asked me to do a signature update , visited my home and did a rekyc . Jump back to now , its still not open . I had 50K in it which I didnt need atm but now I need to travel and I need the zero forex card .
At one time , my ckyc records were accessed by dcb and i got a mail for it . I thought that would be the point after which it would open up . Still no update. Customer care is clueless . Went to the branch and all they say is its in process . I need that money now . The said that its in CIDD . Whatever that is . Is there any time limit for a re kyc ? Why havent they opened it yet ?
Can I do something better to get the done faster ? Is there any way to access the funds atleast .
Please note that there were no lien or anything placed . Just a debit freeze . I still get credits in it . Please help me out

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working as a Relationship Manager at ICICI Bank in Gurgaon for over a year now, and I thought it would be interesting to have an open discussion about my experience in the banking industry.
Whether you're curious about how private banks operate, what a Relationship Manager actually does, banking products, work pressure or the realities of working in a private bank, feel free to ask.
I'm also happy to discuss things I've learned about personal finance, loans, credit cards, business mechanics etc.
PS: If anyone has some reccs for any banking related subs it'll be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I've been using pop upi from the last two months and I found the cashback to be good.
I ordered protein powders and creatine which was around 200-300 rupees cheaper than any other website using my pop coins.
I've also applied for POP Chop which lets me enjoy more discount.
Now, they are marketing their card again with 0 annual and joining fee valid till 31st March.
Is the card actually lifetime free? Or are there any hidden charges?
I'm actually looking for a lifetime free card.
My major purchases from the app would be for my lifestyle - Shoes, proteins and supplements.
Is it worth applying for the credit card? Or the UPI rewards would work jusy fine since my purchase utility is limited to a small segment?
Converting pop coins to cash is just not feasible since the deal of 10 pop coins = 1 Rupee is just trash.
I'll just redeem my pop coins through either vouchers Or pop shop.
People who have been at my place before, please suggest me some other good credit cards or UPI apps which will help me spend effectively.

I have/had two SBM FD Based Credit cards, Novio and Zet, which I took for building credit score. With the recent change in terms and conditions, I mailed them to close both the cards without any penalty. ( RBI rules says, you can close CC without any penalty if you are not okay with change in TnC ). I received refund of SBM ZET credit card FD with penalty deducted, mailed them again and received deducted penalty as well, so it's done and dusted.
But the NOVIO is headache, it's been 20 days since i mailed, no response, on top that I'm receiving calls from private numbers asking why are you closing card? And saying many other irrelevant things in threatening tone. Such a huge difference in teams of 2 CCs of same bank.
If anyone is planning to build credit score with FD CCs, go for major banks not these small banks who runs promotional campaigns on twitter/reddit saying if you open FD CC, you'll get 400/500 cashback etc etc.
After listening to threatening tone of that Novio person, i feel even my data is not safe with this bank. Be wise go for major banks

Just started off my CC journey
Currently having
SBI Prime LTF
Swiggy Ornge LTF
Kiwi in processing
CIBIL 716 when I applied for Kiwi
I don’t travel a lot. But as Sapio is LTF and it is zero forex, was thinking of applying and just keeping it incase I travel in the future. (would have to travel to US and Europe once or twice for work reasons.)
Opinions?

Hey guys, I’m planning to buy a product on Amazon using my SBI credit card, and I’m a bit confused about the No-Cost EMI.
💰 Here’s my checkout breakdown:
- Product price: ₹27,148
- Instant NO COST EMI bank discount: ₹4,000
- No-Cost EMI interest discount: ₹645.71
- Final order amount: ₹22,502.29
- 3-month EMI: ₹7,717.44
- Total payable to SBI: ₹23,152.31
- Processing fee: ₹169 + GST
🤔 My question
I’m thinking of taking the EMI to get the discounts and then cancelling the EMI to pay the full amount upfront.
Has anyone tried this with SBI Card?
I haven’t placed the order yet, so I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually done this before making a decision.
I’ve attached the checkout screenshots for reference.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
