Plenty of pad for 199’

I mean, people can throw 500' on the grass, so I guess really you can say, don't even need a pad, huh

I’m confused how these trees aren’t beat to shit
23
u/solomonplewtattoo 14d ago
Looks so close to the tee that it might actually not be too hard to get through

u/StrifeSociety 14d ago
Because it’s a tame FH approach shot and you can reach halfway from the tee to the “gap”.

u/nautilator44 14d ago
just spin one of the arrows so they both point left. problem temporarily solved!

I bet it looks way more achievable from the pad, to be honest. Also, the tee being so small makes me think it was designed as a standstill forehand.
Not a typical hole but I appreciate any ingenuity in the sport right now.

199 par 3
Baskets in the middle and fairly open
Forehand anny something overstable. One of the birds
Or put a roller down that bad biddy
This would be a nightmare in a tournament but honestly as a teaching hole, it’s got a lot of potential to force you to learn good approaches

u/Xilanxiv RHFH 13d ago
Yeah forehand flick roller for sure. Start it on a tilt to the right so it veers that way and it'll finish left. You'll hit the gap everytime.

u/Aarrington88 RHFH 14d ago
No issues with the mandos, but wtf is that tee pad?

u/Snapped_SouthBend 14d ago
If you can't hit a gap 3 feet in front of you, you didn't have the accuracy to get a birdie with or without the trees

If you’re a player who can’t hit that mando consistently, you’re a player who should be playing for fun and practice instead of score. If you’re that bad and your score is going to determine your mood after the round, you’re going to have a bad time most days. Probably should just not play sports for your own mental health, honestly.

The audacity of putting the arrow on the leftmost tree as if there’s a chance I could shoot the gap between the middle tree and the left mando tree…

u/Sensitive_Tour_4118 12d ago
I was thinking the exact same thing. Looked very hard for any gap between those trees

I like it. I’d be annoyed if every hole was like this though for sure.
One of my favorite courses has a lot of variety including one hole that has an open field for about 75-100 feet followed by a phalanx of trees. Like a wall of them with no real lines or big gaps to aim for, and it’s about 20-30 feet deep till it opens up again. And maybe another 100-150 feet to the basket.
It’s so unusual that I like it. The safe play is to lay up at the tree line where you have a much better chance of weaving through the trees.

What sort of clown course designer sends people home with this hole?

I mean, this is like 10 feet in front of the tee. Isn't this pretty easy to hit?

u/MasterTrav666 14d ago
Depends on the length of the hole. If it’s under 150, maybe even 200, I think it’s pretty fun.

Looks fake. No damage to the trees.

The last few holes are fun. If they could find a way to fill that ditch in front of 16 with water that hole would be amazing.

Definitely the course. My first course that got me playing about a month ago. My experienced partner was a lefty and smashed the left tree. I laughed at the design but had no issues going between

I was actually laughing. It’s the last hole on a small church course. Fun finish.

u/TheDirtyMagician 14d ago
Nope, I'm jump-putting to make the mando and just taking the par (maybe) 😂

little standstill right up against the trees seems easy enough. the closer, the easier
only thing with these is getting your brain to allow your arm to fully release and follow through knowing you wont hit the trees with your hand lmao

One of the holes at a course i used to play on alot had a similar double mando. But it was 30 feet off the tee.

Standstill corehand roller all day. Sorry lefties

u/tackleboxjohnson 14d ago
Lefties can make the same throw, it’ll just curl right at the end of the roll

Whoever designed that is in need of a grippy sock vacation.

It’s a course on a church property where all the holes are like 200ft or under. It is not intended to be a real course. It’s very fun for what it is. It looks worse in the picture than it is in real life. Is it a good hole no, but it really isn’t that bad and is a fun shot even if it isn’t a “good” shot. Also it’s under 200ft.

u/CebronJames 14d ago
What are the other 17 holes like? I think we call holes like this bad design too often and it's just a hard hole.

At 200’, it’s not a bad standstill rhfh shot with a stable putter, but I’d still probably fh roll it just because it would be in my head

Love how there’s just a picture of the basket up close on the sign. Maybe the goofiest part
