Should I be concerned?
I'm building my first fpv drone and I noticed that the yellow and white vtx wires aren't in the same order. Is this a problem?

Check component wiring guide, i cut the fc connector off mine and soldered straight to the fc so this was irrelevant.

The wiring guide showed that that's how it's supposed to be, so I'll just check it with a smoke stopper.

Switched for the whole tx to rx thing, likely correct and if you still weren't sure, components with connectors are often still labeled.
And.. even if it were wrong it won't damage anything, just low voltage communication wires, just switch it around.

In this case it's fine, but it's good that you checked and asked. I've seen people mess some stuff up pretty badly because the factory wiring was wrong or straight up dangerous.

Red and black should always be V and GND. Tx goes to Rx and Rx goes to Tx. If you accidentally plug in Tx/Rx the wrong way it just won't work until you change them around.
If you accidentally plug in V/GND the wrong way it won't work and it will never work again.

There is a reason for this.
What Big Tech doesn't want you to know that all electronics run on magic smoke. There is a complicated ritual involved where a Tech Priest pours it into every electronic component.
And once the smoke escapes, the magic is gone.
Ever seen a catholic ritual where they swirl that bowl filled with smoke around? Basically the same thing, just a different aroma.

What do you mean tx and rx? Tx is transmit and RX is recieve normally you have red 5v+ black 5v- and yellow for video signal and white for audio that should be the 4 wire to the camera head and the box should be the transmit unit with a separate power supply to power the transmit stage so no recieve is needed. As TX and RX is only required for 2 way communications eg your radio is the TX for the drone but if you have telemetry the RX can TX like my AT10II I have a PRM that is used for 2 way coms but I cannot send data to my VTX only recieve the video output.

Tx Rx on a FC uart. It depends on your VTX, some use an UART, some don't - and some receive data via the audio cable. Some will have video and audio, some will have video and UART... We don't even know yet if this a digital or analog VTX. On a digital VTX white and yellow would be a uart and no video at all. On Analog this will probably be video and (Smart)Audio.
Tx/Rx should be crossed on a uart connection and connecting it the wrong way will just not work but not do any harm to the components.
Many FCs will output more than 5v on the video plug or pad so I would not assume it's 5v. Always check the documentation.

I just checked on Ai and it's the same type of principle but only communication to one device where CAN bus like i deal with in the Automotive Field can control multiple devices with the just the TX and RX as the signal is encoded on the carrier wire and the module only looks for it's signal/code to operate.

no its fine, its basically just connecting your vtx's rx to the fc's tx, and you're vtx's tx to your fc's rx
