Recently Film is Fabulous held an exclusive webinar stream to their patreon members.
In the livestream, they answered a lot of questions from their patrons, among the questions they answered, they revealed some interesting tidbits.
They are aware of a total of three film collections containing missing Doctor Who. Two of them are from former industry professionals, while the other is not. FIF have been in on-going talks with them to catalogue their collections. The other third collection is a rather very large collection, it is rumored to be around 16,000 films or more.
John Franklin said it contains some historical important television episodes in it that he knows many people would love to see…
Sadly the collector of this collection is in terrible health. The collector’s family is going through a difficult situation, and John is doing his best to give them the time they need and being patient with them.
John is hopeful somewhere way down the line they will have an announcement regarding the collections, but it doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon.
So we are looking at a total of at least 4 missing episodes because we know one of the collection is the man with the two missing Hartnell episodes that have been know about since 2016. Also known as the “Fish Fry Prints”.
Other Interesting tidbits below.
Back in October of last year when FIF stated they were *aware of several collectors with several missing DW episodes.* They were aware of 4 collections, including the collection with the one Dalek’s Master Plan episode they knew at the time.
John also mentioned that the BBC brand Doctor Who team calls him on a weekly basis, asking him for updates on missing Doctor Who episodes.
