Quick Question

It's been awhile since I had ordered Doordash because I just can't afford the fees anymore. However, I was given a DD Giftcard for my birthday yesterday and ordered KFC last night. KFC is 1.2 miles away and its a straight shot on a 45 mile an hour road, with only 1 light. There is also a decent bicycle path on that road. So when it showed up that "Andrea" was delivering on a bicycle, I wasnt completely shocked.

However, instead of cyclist Andrea, it was a somewhat creepy dude in his 50s, driving a 1990 black Chevy Lumina. When I say somewhat creepy, Im referring to his blatant desire to try to see around me and into the room behind me when I opened the door to accept the bag. He also said "having dinner alone tonight?".

Obviously, this does not automatically make him a criminal stalker. Ive met people, heck, Im friends with people who don't always think how something they say may sound completely wrong. They are genuinely confused when you try to point it out because its their misguided attempt and being friendly and making small talk.

If it had just been the case of his roaming eyes and weird small talk, I wouldn't think much of it. However, its that behavior combined with the fact that I didn't get the feeling he was "Andrea" and he certainly wasn't on a bike, that has me asking for another opinion.

Also, there were no other people in the car - so its not like "Andrea" was in the car and he was just doing the legwork.

I dont know if this is worth reporting. The whole encounter just felt off but I don't want to potentially take away someone's livelihood if its just an innocent situation - for example, if that was "Andrea's" boyfriend and she is sick but they needed the money. I know you arent supposed to share accounts but its not something I would report unless there was additional issues.

Then again, if the guy IS up to no good and later hurts someone because no one reported early on suspicious behavior, I would feel immensely guilty.

Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated.

Oh, I doubt it matters in this situation but it seems like someone always mentions it - My order came to $21.46 and I tipped $8.54 for the 1.2 mile trip. I did NOT rescind the tip and I have no intentions of doing so. Regardless of my unease surrounding encounter, I received my meal efficiently and correctly - which is the job. So the tip stays.

This is very common. Identities are sold so people who shouldn’t be dashing can do so.

100% report, and leave a 1 star review. Also always select drop off at door and if you’re a single woman, consider changing your own first name on the app to a male counterpart. Invest in a ring cam as well if you can afford it.

I would report. If the person that showed up isn’t the person listed on the app, that’s a problem. You should know who’s dropping off your order.

Also not as bad as using someones account, but bikes get shorter distance ordered normally. So he is also stealing from ppl who are really on a bike.

Please report this. Not only are they using someone elses account, they're driving when set as bike, which means they likely aren't driving legally, etc.

There's plenty of other dashers who do things legally and the way we're supposed to, please report these fraudsters and get them off the platform!

I have since reported them. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being ridiculous. I dont like causing people problems but at the same time, I don't want to just do nothing if it's a situation where I should report. I appreciate the comments that were given.
